I remember when there were no trigger locks. My dad just said, "don't touch my guns while I'm gone". And we didn't touch his guns.

 

Most of mine are in my safe. I try to keep one within reach at all times, though.

 

I don't have that many. My dad always had quite a few. Reloading was his thing. (We were poor as hell, not sure how he got the $ for any of it)

 

I used to reload. I need to get back into it.

I clearly remember as a kid watching my dad reload. It was with manual scales. None of the electronic stuff. He would be bent over those scales, beer or glass of cheap whiskey on the bench, cigarette hanging from his mouth. The good ole days.
(Front door open cause he wouldn't turn on the a/c until it was like 105* outside).
Sorry to hear about your break-ins, some people just suck.
