F39C895A-A3D1-40DC-A63D-EB9DA7CDA985.jpg Was very hesitant after looking and not finding much on putting 285/75r17 tires on my stock rims with just a 3” leveling kit. 2018 TRD 4x4 sport. Looks great and very minimal trimming. Did have to use spacers to clear control arm. Any advice for someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing?5F93FAEE-E938-4875-B138-74E1971459AF.jpg

What size spacer did you need to install and can you show how proud the tires stick out?

    Thanks,

1.25” should work. What I’ve seen on here. Tires look sick

Ended up using KSP 1.5” with extended lug nuts. Apparently the Tacoma and Fj have very short bolts on the hub. The tires are barely out past the fender flare.

A true 33 inch tire, that’s some serious rubber. It looks great. You’ll have to give an update on the pros and cons performance wise.

Tires a perfect match for lift. Next question, how much did your gas mileage drop......lol

Also what was the truck “Feeling” with lift and tires as compared to stock and yes what lift.

    Thanks,

    Lol,
Gas.... lost 5miles at least.... speedometer is off 8 mph.

It’s a rough country leveling kit. True 3” in the front, and 2” blocks in the back. I had it on for a while trying to use the stock tires up and get my monies worth. The front end steering was definitely a lot more loose compared to stock. It actually seemed A little tighter when the 34’s went on.

Your truck sits perfect. I really like the stance. loss of 5mpg? really? That is terrible. Mine already gets pretty poor mileage compared to the performance.

Possibly since the larger tires are reading incorrect MPH the mileage would be off also.

Just a quick update, looks like I’m going to have to get rims with an offset. Spacers makes front end ride like shit. Speedometer is off 7mph
Gas is horrible 12mtg but the truck looks good....lol

I’ve ran many sets of spidertrax 1.25” wheel spacers, never a single issue.

That suspension spacer makes my CV’s cringe, how do yours look, Fin’s touching ? (Won’t affect ride, but will blowout the CV boots in time if they are touching).

Did you or someone else installed the wheel spacers, it’s very important they are torqued properly.

What air pressure are you running up front, are those E rated tires ? I run the same size and model tire in a C rating at 32 psi. I’m currently running aftermarket wheels, but had 285/70/17’s on OEM 4runner wheels & spacers before, no issues.

lastly, are the tires balanced properly ?

I have a very similar set up on Icon Vector 6’s with no rubbing. One thing to think about is mud flaps. My first trip off-road with no flaps led to a significant amount of rocks hitting the sides of my truck. All good with the typical wear that comes with putting these trucks to work but having rocks and gravel hit the paint at high speeds due to not have something as simple as flaps kind of sucks. I installed XL Rokblokz and they work really well. Just wished I put them on right after I increased my tire size. Oh well. Your truck looks good.
