Hello All, I have an 06 TRD offload w/ the tow package and the power outlet in my bed stopped working, when I press the button, the light goes on for about a second, then turns off and I get no power. Im not great with electrical stuff, but I would imagine that since the light comes on, it is not the fuse? Could be totally wrong. Also my cigarette lighter stopped working, so I replaced the fuse, and it blew immediately, and continues to do the same thing every time.

If anyone has any suggestions or has had similar problems pls let me know. Thank You!

Inverter: Check 100 amp AC SKT fuse underhood, if it's good check every single fuse on the entire truck (personally I'd repair cigarette lighter problem before trying to fix inverter!), if all fuses are good it is either the inverter itself or a wiring problem (rats eating wiring harness etc). I read a couple of unverified rumors. Rumor 1 is there is a AC SKT relay in fuse box, my truck doesn't show said relay, if yours does swap that relay for an identical relay that's already in your fuse box and check to see if inverter works, but I don't believe there is a AC SKT relay. Second rumor is there is an internal fuse inside the inverter, it's possible but not probable. It's a pretty simple system: fuse in fuse box, inverter, and wiring.

Cigarette lighter: Remove the cigarette lighter element and receptacle and install fuse, if the fuse blows there is a wiring problem and you'll need to let me know what aftermarket stuff your truck has and if it's possible rats ate the harness, if the fuse stays good plug in cigarette receptacle but don't push it back in the dash yet, check fuse. If the fuse blows the receptacle is bad, if the fuse stays good put cigarette lighter element into receptacle and check fuse.

Here is a video on removing a power port, removing the cigarette lighter can be done exactly the same. I have never tried installing a cigarette lighter or a power port as shown in this video. I usually install the outer ring into the hole first and then push in the lighter receptacle.
