I have an sr5 and it comes with a key fob, fog lights, painted front bumper, windshield wiper mechanism, sr5 badges, aluminum rims, painted door handles, fenders, sliding rear window, etc. I noticed yours doesnt have the fenders or fog lights right off the bat. Looks like a heavily moded sr. Plus the steering wheel in my sr5 is more premium than yours.

All paperwork shows it's an SR5 from the dealer.

Did you buy the truck sight-unseen? Or did you see it/ test drive it/ know what you were buying before purchasing it? I agree it's an issue that they misled you on the paperwork, but if you saw the truck in person (paying any attention at least, and knowing what features you were/ weren't getting) and agreed to the deal , you might be SOL. Regardless of what it says on the paperwork. That's the way I look at it, and that's gonna be the dealer's argument. Of course a lawyer would look at it differently, but it's not worth the time/ legal expenses to take it to court. To be clear, i'm not saying that you shouldn't go and complain just to see what they'll do for you, but don't be surprised if they tell you to kick rocks.

I could agree, but to be fair I'm a "kid" lol I'm not a trained Toyota salesmen, even salesmen wouldn't know the difference right off the bat unless they happened to personally be interested. I know because I've asked plenty of different salesmen while waiting for maintenance about newer models and they never could tell what was different unless they checked on paper. Yes I looked and knew what I was driving, but I could argue I only knew what they told me and in this case it's that I was buying a higher model and was given another. There's a contract for one vehicle and they distributed something else while telling me it was right.

If he wins, he still would have had to front that money. And there's always the chance that he loses, then he's really fucked. This is Toyota that were talking about (or a Toyota dealership). Either way they have a lot of money and resources that the average Joe does not. Again, you have to factor in your time and the stress involved. To me, it's not worth it. Not even close. But either way, we're getting ahead of ourselves... maybe the dealer will do something for him to make it right. If they don't, I would cut my losses and use it as a learning experience.

I would try taking to them nicely and see what they have to say , maybe their paperwork came messed up and it's an honest mistake . I would still want them to make me whole .

Agreed it would be a lot time and money put in for a lawsuit, but like you said it's a big company. I'm not hard to keep happy haha, I'm sure they would rather make it right and make the customer happy rather than go through the same headache, and more so than a lawsuit I don't think theyd enjoy it being publicized that a young veteran gets misled into buying a falsely advertised vehicle.

Yep. Talk to the sales manager and bring your paperwork that shows they had it advertised as an SR5, as well as a print out of toyota.com/owners where you ran your VIN and it says that it's an SR. Point out the specific features that you're missing out on and that you believe you paid for. If they're even half decent they'll do something to make it right. Thanks for your service BTW

Sorry to hear about all this and hope dealer work it out to your satisfaction.

Dealer misrepresented to buyer that it was in fact SR5 when it was SR. Should contact both FTC at fed level and Texas AG at state level. FTC takes false advertisement seriously. Don't believe you need a lawyer to represent you since you're filing a complaint against the dealer and the agenc(ies) will be there to protect your interest.

My hope you is that you have advertisement as proof somewhere. This would make the case much stronger and give reason for FTC to step in.

    Thanks for your service!!!

Did you add the V6 badge to the tailgate and the TACOMA badges on your door? Those come on the SR5 but not the SR. SR is stripped on the outside except for "4x4" on the tailgate. The rest of the stuff you're talking about (wipers, keyless, fogs, etc.) are standard features on the SR5.

If you want fogs they're like $50 to install:
    https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Assem...a-822606141507&psc=1&ref=&adgrpid=80170967178

    Keyless is about $120:

Wiper stalk will run you a variable amount. You can either buy it from Amazon or you can go to a junkyard (find a Corolla). Cost me about $40 vs. $120 new.

Tacoma 16+, Corolla 14+, Camry 12-17, and Avalon 13-18 all share the same stalk.
