Gents, I'll be heading to the TTC CNC toy drive on Dec. 15. I'd love to collect any toys from the DFW folk and take em down there in case anybody isn't headed to ATX themselves. Reach out to me if you have anything.

Also, blankets for the SATX meet on the 14th. I won't be attending this one but I'd still love to gather blankets and hand them off to anyone going. Let me know!

Found this out while trying to find out what makes LED pods SAE compliant... like the Rigid SAE LED lights they are promoting.

    https://mcop-autolighting.com/what-is-dot/

SAE documents do not carry any legal strength. Therefore, just because a vehicle component such as a LED light is SAE approved, it does not mean it is legal to be used on public roads, all it means is that the quality of the design and construction meet the standards set by SAE, which are very high standards indeed.

    SAE/DOT Approved LED Lights
Now that we know what exactly DOT and SAE is and what differentiates them, let’s talk about DOT and/or SAE approved LED lighting. By law, in order to operate a LED light, or any other kind of light on public roads legally, it MUST BE approved by the department of transportation (DOT). If a light is SAE compliant, meaning it is built to the strict standards set by the SAE alone, and not DOT, it cannot be used legally on a public road or highway.
So if you are in the market and are looking to get LED lighting which you can operate legally on public roads and highways, ensure that the LED driving light, LED fog light or LED headlight is DOT approved and not just SAE approved as in the end it is DOT which says what is legal to be used on the road and what isn’t, not SAE. All of our DOT approved LED fog lights and headlights are also SAE and E-Mark compliant.

Yeah i was curious how a cop would even be able to prove the light is illegal or not. I have been running my amber Baja Squadron Sports in my bumper for a few years, blasted many cops, and have never heard anything about it. I think that as long as they are yellow and mounted in the bumper below the headlights you should be good.

Also got to be a petty cop to pull you over for fog lights...

Agreed, I think it's the color more than anything else. I've seen dudes get stopped for running blue or red on their rock lights but never for running ambers. I think ambers are a better bet anyways... easier for other to see
