Tesla Truck to be announced on Nov. 21. I assume it will look a lot like the Hyundai. You'd think that these companies would put together a focus group of truck users before rolling out the design.

Is somebody feeling a little insecure about their own "girl truck"? Because god love 'em (and I do love mine), but these little pickups of ours aren't that "manly" on a scale of

Hey, does "white" modify "truck", or is it adjectival for "mafia" in your screen name?

    I think it looks good.

At least it's not a four door monstrosity like the Ridgeline...and those similar short bed "pickup trucks" that shall remain nameless.

    None... yet.
Why in the world would they do a focus group with people they’re not trying to sell to? They’re not expecting truck users to buy this. They’re trying to sell to people who want an SUV with about 10-20% of the functionality of a truck. Which is fine. There’s a market for that.

I really don’t understand why some people get so defensive over this shit. It’ll either sell well and stick around, or it won’t sell and it’ll disappear. Either way it won’t threaten the Tacoma in the least, because it’s going after a completely different market segment.

For what it is, I think it looks kinda cool. Would I buy one? Hell to the no. But I’m always happy to see companies trying something new.

Awe, did I strike a nerve ? You need a safe place ? I’m fully aware of what a “mans” truck is. I’ve got over 1 million logged miles driving a semi.

As you can see I have a “white truck.” The “mafia” thing is a joke amongst some friends. You’re so very intelligent.

True, but you're ignoring the fact that many truck owners also use about 20% of truck functionality in real life, if not less. I know many white collar guys who drive their 1/2 tons from their house to the train station, and back. Maybe they go to the dump every once in a while. I assume they have the truck because it looks masculine/tough and offers some utility. Does that mean that a truck that looks different shouldn't exist? No - I'm sure there is a market for that too. But I doubt that that market segment is anywhere as big as the typical truck buyer segment. It's Hyundai's gamble to ignore the typical truck buyer and go with the urban/metrosexual truck-like wagon. Just seems like a missed opportunity to not put together something that could compete with Tacoma or the Frontier.

The 2019 market for the vehicle spoken of. There’s obviously the market for it.

Nah. I'm not a gauntlet throwing sort.
I'm honestly just "kicking the dog" because my wife pissed me off.

There, an honest troll for once.

No. But I don't drive a 3rd gen either. What I have meets my needs just fine and doesn't have a grill styled after a carp. :D

But I do like the 3rd gen tailgate. Very Ford-ish, but still nice.

I actually like it. Not really a competitor to a truck though. Now if they actually made this Veloster offroad variant I'd be really down haha.
