I mean if they 'evacuate' then a dead body would be lighter. Also, if I remember correctly there was once a somewhat scientific study on this in an effort to determine whether or not a soul has mass.

Sorry guys, I didn't intend to take the thread into such a dark/existential direction but it happens sometimes.

    Edit:
Here it is. It's on Wikipedia so it has to be true.

Backcountry is having a pre black Friday sale, and have some great deals on stuff. I ordered a patagonia nano puff jacket for 40% off. Check it out if interested.

I actually googled and read about it, whether a dead body weighs more than a live one, so yes, thanks for sending us all down a dark, morbid hole, Lee.

Took apart the driver side of my suspension last night in an attempt to change out the needle bearing for the ECGS bushing. I couldn't get the CV out with prying/chiseling on the shroud; so, I guess I'll try a slide hammer and/or cable choker either tonight or tomorrow. All those bits and pieces of the IFS aren't too complicated, but I'm definitely on the think and go slow --- use progressively stronger amounts of force as things don't work.

But once I can get that changed, I've got some new Dobinsons coils and shocks to go all around. AAL in the rear. If I can get the bushing installed early enough tomorrow night, I don't think I'll have a problem getting the fronts done at the same time. Then I could maybe get my alignment done Saturday. I'm pretty excited to have it done. Here's hoping I don't bugger up the C clip getting the CV out! :fingerscrossed:

    Yeah.
Aaron, you've probably done this, but look for YouTube videos. I seem to recall there being a trick to that, but I could be (and likely am) wrong.

Yeah, people have said it comes out easily if the c-clip's gap is facing down. We spun the shaft around and tried different spots, but it didn't seem to help. I'm definitely going to try that again before more drastic measures are taken. I watched a video last night where the guy said he'd done several ECGS bushing installs for his friends, and his experience was that it was more difficult to do if the truck was newer.

But hey, I'd hate to skip it just to have some roaring vibration in the floorboard while I'm trying to go hunting in a couple weeks.

That's the trick on my passenger CV. Driver's side comes out easy but the passenger side I always have to put a pry bar between the diff and the CV hub. Give it a light push, rotate a few degrees, light push, and so on until it pops out. I never have to use much force but it absolutely has to be at just the right spot.

When it eventually does come out make sure you pay attention to the orientation. It will want to go back in that way too.

That's a good word. I need to remember that it will have to be re-installed once it's changed. Haha!

Also, anyone with expertise know how much gap there should be in the c-clip?

I have a spare remanufactured CV for my 1st gen. Pulled it out of its box and the gap was about 3/4". I'll upload the pic when I get a chance.

Thanks Lee! Mine looks to be about that. Makes me feel better!

Also, I would've parked next to this one, but I was in a borrowed truck as mine is obviously still in pieces:
