Was about to say that's not bad at all bc I get 20 mpg in my 5 lug with nothing other than 235's to make it worse. Granted I drive it like an animal, but it was 20 mpg when I drove slow.

i used to get 22 or 23 roughly when i kept the speed down, i have decades of fillup data
now i can barely get over 20 MPG with careful attention to speed, i.e, not much over 70mph
its either the fuel filter bad or my choice of new slightly larger than stock tires

I've gotten as high as 25 mpg if I keep it under 3k RPM's. With winter gas now I'm getting 21/22 mpg. That's about what I was getting in my 4x4 3rz with 33's a lift and bed cap.

 

Guess that's more evidence I should be inclined to check my MAF sensor as mentioned prior.... I mean on the freeway half the time I'm in 4th but even in that gear with 235's I'm only at 3 k rpm's at 70 3K is just such a sweet spot to pass people when needed

 

go to 5th and drop a gear when it's time to make them disappear

I like that phrase, gotta work on being in 5th gear more. just feels so slow like it's really only a cruising gear unless I get to 80's. I used to make it through all 5 gears on streets with my 215's but now on 235's it's only used on highways lol

With 35s and 4.10s my truck is happy at 3K RPM going about 80 through the hills on my commute
