Had this happen to all 4 at the 1/yr and it took about a month but got 4 replacements. Took pictures and dealt directly with the service manager

Why do you keep going back to that dealer if they are crap ? go somewhere else,or do your own work on the truck.

Nobody is going to give a shit about your truck more than you are. For most very simple things, oil change, tire fill/rotation, brake pad+rotor change, filters ect you are better off doing this yourself. You can use an actual torque wrench on ever lug / bolt instead of an impact like any dealer or mechanic will do. You will use the exact wt/brand/volume of oil you want.

If you are getting these dealer services for free then maybe keep going ...but unless you live in some apartment or are too busy working and having fun 24/7 fix that crap yourself.

    Probably lol.

Two of my friends back in high school used to work at jiffylube. They claimed when it got super busy they would just tell their boss that they had done the oil change when in fact nothing had been done to the cars. Also at least once a week a car would get all the oil sucked out, but not filled back up lol. The owner would then have to fight to get their motor replaced...yikes.

Good to know. I have pictures from the day I got the truck back luckily. Hoping they will replace them.

My dealer is not bad despite the wheels. Although I did my first oil change myself and plan to do so the whole time (DONT care that there is 2 yrs of paid maintenance. Just because the free label they slap on it doesn’t mean it’s actually free- I’m sure they have that all calculated in by the bean counters with the truck). I would of rotated them myself but I haven’t figured out the best way to lift the whole truck without a lift.

The reason I don’t think they are bad is because anytime I ask them to change settings in techstream they don’t bitch or charge, they just do it. I had the seat belt chime turned off. Forgot to mention other settings I wanted changed so they did it the next visit.

Mine hasn't been that bad either until now. And I probably wouldn't have cared as much if I hadn't just switched my wheels to the TRD Pro SEMA 17".

That's why whenever I have my oil changed I find a way to watch the work being done and ask questions too. They tell me because of insurance rules I can't be in the work area...I stay there and watch like a hawk anyway.

Mine were the stock sports. If it was just 1 ding or scratch I probably would of been fine and dealt with it (everyone makes a mistake). But when it was multiple spots on every wheel that’s just careless. If I had spent money on different wheels i wouldn’t care if it was 1 ding/scratch or not- I’d want it fixed.

the service manager told me it’s extremely common and when they replaced them he had the only tech that he would install on his personal vehicle. So I got his name and will set my appointments, from here on out, based on his availability. He also has the sockets with the protective sleeve so next time ask for only a tech that has the sleeve

OP, that's why I change my own oil and do any other maintenance that I can do on my own. Too many people are horrible at their jobs, just think about the performance of your coworkers to get some idea how many lazy morons are out there.

The “free” service is to get into the service bay and up sell you on other products that they offer.

I think the quality of service at dealerships has been going down hill for a while, so it wouldn't surprise me that they didn't rotate your tires. They cut corners whenever they have the opportunity too, thinking the customer won't ever notice.

Everytime I bring my truck in, they unplug my dash cam. I have to keep telling the advisor to tell the techs not to touch my property inside the truck, but they would never listen. I've taken it to three different dealerships for service, and it seems to be common practice at all of them. I'm a bit paranoid so when they unplug the cam, I feel obligated to check their work.

The only reason I still go is because it's free, and the maintenance the first 20k miles is hard to screw up. But once Toyota Care ends, I'll be doing all the maintenance myself like I do with my other cars.

I'm thinking you might want to switch to having your truck serviced at Lexus. If It is really that big of a deal to you to have possibly 1/100th of an ounce weight on your wheel then you definitely have some lofty expectations that only money can fix. I'm guessing you are the know it all type because you read something from the internet. Not bashing because if that is the way you are that is fine. You just need to find a place that caters to your type. Your expectations by far exceed Toyota standards.
