I am looking at a 2017 Limited. For the same price and mileage i can get either a 17 limited or 17 TRD Sport with long box no real options. Thoughts?

Limited has the same braking system as an SR/SR5/Sport and does not have a rear locker.

Just realized it / no rear locker and deleted my comment, but must have done that after the quote was used. In that case do you need short vs long bed would be the only question and what features does limited have.

Would you rather have a 6’ bed and sporty suspension or leather seats, moonroof, JBL stereo, etc?

Gotta love the non functional hood scoop, even though neither of us apparently did lol

I really have no real preference. I live in WI and snow is an issue and am looking for whatever one is the best resale and overall value. I like the JBL but I also like the 6ft box. I am not in the position to buy new and I do not see any available with JBL and 6ft box in my area. My old rusty died and I am not really wanting to drive my summer car in the snow. But I am just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Thank you in advance.

Going strictly by resale, the Limited cost more new, so should have a higher book value.

What are you going to do with it? Would you be using the 6 footer a lot or camping in the back? If either I would say got 6 foot. I use a RTT since the bed sucked the three times I used the 5 foot bed. These trucks hold their value very well and who wants which model more is just down to the buyer you get. Between those two given the info you gave I think I would go limited, I’m not a fan of the fake hood scoop and if you won’t be changing the audio system the JBL and leather will be nice. Is there a major difference in miles? Reason I ask is typically the limited is more expensive.

It's all about what you want. Do you want leather, JBL, 6' bed...

That all said if you go 6 foot there is a member on here that does really discounted katzskin seats where you can add heaters or coolers so that’s not out of the picture. I love mine and no complaints after 30k or so miles. Hell people sell nice audio components too. If your staying stock nvm but if willing / wanting to tinker then it’s just the bed as a decision.

I’m an OR guy but if I had to choose between the two I would take the limited.

If the long box is a benefit to you, go with the Sport and maybe get Clazzios for the interior. If you don't care about the long bed then get the Limited and don't worry about having to upgrade the interior.

You need to know for you, not these guys , what you want from a truck. Go to the dealer and test drive all models and what feels good, FOR YOU. Nevermind what these guys tell you. Not everybody goes off roading, popping up a tent, hauling ATV, lumber whatever.
I took 2 months of looking through models.
Hell, I'll never go off roading so a Pro and 4x4 TRD was off the table . Don't need it. Never will use it.
I like stiff suspension and handling so a V6Trd Sport was a better choice. The V6TRD sport looked best, TO ME. It drove and handled better than others.
    I have never wondered " I should've bought......."
The wife wanted sunroof and leather so be it.

I love this frickin truck. Never a problem except the Entune which got fixed. Solid, no nonsense.

Helps to look at the brochure side by side what is standard and what is option . Call the dealer and ask if that model is available then test drive it. Play with the controls. My sales guy was awesome. Very patient. Allowed me to look around the lot without him breathing over my shoulder which I REALLY HATE car salesman do. I just walk away.

Buy the model that suites the type of driving and hauling you'll be doing. I drove every Tacoma model before making my choice (90% pavement-10% offroading) and the Sport, by far, was the best choice for my driving habits. She's no slouch in some very bad mudding and trailing conditions either.

The limited is a better value. You get more features and better resale. I can only see the sport being a better option if you had to have the long bed.

Are you over 50? If so, limited.
Are you in your 20s? If so, sport.
Are you in your 30s, a man of action that gets things done? If so, look into Off Road.
Are you a baller that gets all the bitches and all the cocaine? If so, look into the Pro.

The 2017 Limited had heated seats, did it not? You live in WI. That would be the deciding factor for me.
