My 2nd gen might be 'full' of electronics. Not quite as 'bloated' as the 3rd gen.

I have a fraction of the bs to go wrong with sensors. When I was getting my truck, I had the choice between 2nd and 3rd gen brand new. Test drove them both, and got the 2nd gen, exactly the one I wanted :argue:

Yeah, let's talk about secondary air pump... that is a bloated feature compare to fluid reservoir sensor or adding adaptive headlights.
Best years were 2005-2011, change my mind :crapstorm:

My '99 Mazda had it too. It was a simple switch in the reservoir wired to a caution light in the dash. When the fluid dropped to a certain level, the light would intermittently come on during acceleration because of sloshing. In the Taco, there appears to be some debounce logic to prevent this (might be in the instrument cluster software).

probably just a timer there to sense the amount of fluid, if it's below for N-amount of time warning light comes on. Can't be super complicated, it's Toyota.

Christmas light dashboard... plus your ecu is going to be in a limp mode. Won't even be drivable at that point, it's all bloated. Give me my 22R engine!

What? Not with an aftermarket ecu or stand alone fuel management, you wouldnt even need the oem wiring

You probably could unhook eveything that wasnt engine related and would still run fine despite the lights on the dash

    Though i wouldnt recommend it

I just ordered a set of SOS skid plates for an early Christmas present to me.

Black Friday sale, 20% off, shipped to a store in Buffalo for $780CDN. I’ll have to bring them across the border, and likely pay another $80-90 in tax. Still much cheaper than any other option I could find.

I've taken my sliders off for repainting and will have to paint the skids as well. My truck is back to stock for the Winter (Not that it was heavily modified). I'm curious about how much I’ll notice the extra weight in the Spring (sliders and skids, maybe 300#).

Steel skids will make a height difference.

I had squashed my rig with armor before upgrading the suspension :cookiemonster:

How much sag are we talking about? I'm still running the stock suspension. Are there any stages to upgrading the suspension? Some way to spread out the cost?

I did my suspension all at once as it seemed easier to just get it all done.

My rig had lost a noticeable amount of height, I was scared to measure. :anonymous:

It will be different for yours, as your armor will weight different from mine.

I initially ordered FOX2.5 from https://www.tdotperformance.ca/ and those mo@therf@ckers!s were lying to me for 70+ days that the shocks are on the back order and going to be shipped to me "soon". So I told them to fuck off, got my money and looked elsewhere and found this brand.

    Things I found is:
It's pretty much FOX2.5 but with aluminum housing instead of steel.
They are Canadian made in Quebec and I can ship them there for rebuild anytime or re-valve.
And they come with 700lbs coils from factory instead of 600lbs on FOX.

You can also read more scientific thread here:

Going to install them next week. :dancingbacon:
