Independent of last nights ending, he could not take a snap for the rest of the season and I could be okay with it. I’m not sure what happened to him since he graduated college, but his decision making ability is bad.

Russ is winning it. I liked CM to win it a few weeks ago, but Russ is just doing business.

I am with Russ or Lamar, both outstanding quarterbacks.

We finally have a coach and GM who seem to know WTF they are doing. It's taken a while to come back after the mob days.

 

I think Russ has an easier path. LJ is proving everyone wrong this season, though.

 

I could see a team signing him this year, but how much can he really contribute with having to learn the playbook etc even if so?

Could be wrong but I don't see him doing that. He wants to play.

 

Have you seen some of these backups?

If Eric Reid is right about his workout routine, he should be in the mix for some teams no problem. Granted, game speed is different than any training.

 

Sure I have but it still gonna take time to learn a new system. How much time? Good question. I could see it next year though. Even if he is in game day shape there's still adjustment.

I've always felt Kap has an overinflated opinion of his value in terms of money..perhaps he's changed his mind and will take less money and/or backup. Time will tell.

 

Half the teams in the league have used a QB that couldn’t find a playbook without the OC hitting them in the face with it. I’m not buying the argument that he can’t learn a limited playbook and be better than say, Haskins Driscoll Jones Rudolph Mayfield Tannehill etc.

He took a team to a SB and had good numbers before injuries and chip. QBs with numbers like he had get paid. He opted out of $9m to leave SF not anticipating he was going to get locked out. I’d say he has a good idea of what he’s worth if he can compete anywhere near that level still.

I haven’t watched football in a few years. I saw something about the Browns on the news today and I could not believe it. I was in shock.......they’ve seriously won four games this year?

 

Prolly not. The $$ in the collusion matter was compensation for being wronged in the past.

I think some teams are desperate and would sign him well above any minimums. But it’ll be interesting to hear how the workout went. Has he stayed in NFL playing shape for two plus years?

I can see Belichick scooping him up if the price is right but then again his level of play really plummeted after losing the Superbowl...

 

On a related note, what ever happened with the Dez Bryant signing late last year? Did he not recover from the injury or did the Saints release him at year end?

 

Agreed, I even conceded that it takes "time"..how much, who knows.

 

He would be that type of player in general, IE a reclamation project and he's getting a shot to win a ring. Not sure if the organization would be interested in him though.

I hope he kills it. Everyone else who has taken a similar stand is on a team, endorsed, or otherwise in every other sport. Guy hasn’t been suspended by the league for assault, drugs, etc., yet his character is called into question. Give me a break
