    also looks like what they probably did was run a full length board and ran perpendicular lines for the crosses then cut them out if that makes sense...

    Box is done. Certainly not perfect and some superficial scratches in the finish, possibly under the top coat. It’s been buffed several times so, it is what it is. At least it’s a labor of love. I suppose for the first real attempt at a display box project, it’s not bad.

    A thing or two...
    Anyone running one of the Bosch miter saws? I first saw them in some YouTube videos and was intrigued by the non-standard hinge/sliding mechanism that lets it sit closer to the wall than standard sliding miter saws. The reviews I've read have been positive, so I started pricing them out. I stumbled across a pre-Black Friday deal last night for the 12" model for over $100 below the typical price, so I went ahead and jumped on it. Once it comes in, I think the first thing it will get used for is to build a miter station for it. I already know which wall in the shop it's going against. :D
