Anybody know anything about Cobray M-11/9 mm?
    Never fired.
    Original owners manual.

Is there a market for these things?
What few listings I've seen on GunBroker are all over the place.

    Any info would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

Some interesting facts on this company....

According to a 1989 article by Ron Taylor in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the history of SWD, Inc. begins in 1978 with the acquisition of MilitaryArmament Corporation's parent company, RPB, and the rights to the MAC-10 fully automatic assaultpistol by Wayne Daniel and his partner John Carpenter. Carpenter was soon convicted of trying to bribe a prosecutor to get him to drop a drug charge against a client. Two other partners in the company were accused of smuggling more than two tons of marijuana into Florida. One fled the country; the other was sentenced to 30 years.

Wayne Daniel went on to manufacture a semi-automatic version of the MAC-10, which led to his first confrontation with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). The agency approved the assaultpistol, but reassessed its position following reports that it was easily converted to full-auto. In 1982 ATF banned it. Daniel sued and lost. At the end of the dispute, Daniel dissolved RPB and created SWD, Inc. and placed it in the hands of his ex-wife Sylvia. SWD is an acronym for Sylvia and Wayne Daniel.

In 1985 the Daniels were indicted on 12 charges of illegally selling parts to manufacture silencers for submachine guns. The Daniels were eventually fined $1,400 after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of not paying proper taxes on the parts.

Ads for the MAC-11 dubbed it "The Gun That Made the '80s Roar." The gun was cheap—$200 to $300—easy to conceal, and could be fitted with a 32-round magazine. SWD also manufactured the Street Sweeper, a 12-gauge, semi-automatic, 12-round, revolving cylinder shotgun—complete with folding stock and pistol grips. One ad for the gun warned, "It's a Jungle Out There! There Is A Disease And We've Got The Cure." For only $395 the ad advised, "Make you [sic] streets safe and clean with the help of 'The Street Sweeper'!"

MAC/SWD/Cobray were sued in 1998 by a man who suffered severe injuries when a shell manufactured and sold by Cobray exploded when the victim fired a MAC/SWD/Cobray flare launcher. This is also the lawsuit that started the protections that Congress granted in a 2005 law that shielded makers from liability....

Craptastic guns. Made as cheap as possible. As crude as possible. The grip sucks, accuracy sucks, the stock mags suck, running a full magazine without a FTF, FTE, or other jam is uncommon, its heavy, the trigger slap will hurt you, they rust rather easily, ummmm probably some other negative stuff.

Pro's.....you can buy better aftermarket mags for it. You can get "braces" for it, it is the exact (well same design) gun design that anti-gun people go out of their way to ban just by looks, it screams 80's action movie.

As for the market....ehhh its there to those people who want them more for collecting. Not worth it if you are looking for a range toy to take out often though. Havent really followed pricing much but always seemed like they could be had for 400-500 if you were patient, 600-700 normally, and then people thinking they had a gem for over that. (obviously more if more magazines and stuff)

Your choice of Glock, S&W, or Springfield in 9mm, whichever fits in your hand best.

It’s cheap, easy to shoot and effective if you shoot someone. Probably the best all around caliber unless you just want to target shoot only and not have the pistol serve any other purpose, in that case save money and buy a .22.

Depends on your intended use. CCW, target, hunting, home protection. Calibers have specific +\-‘s
Most people have their favorite calibers, mine is .45 cal,
9mm has decent ballistics, relatively low cost ammo with great availability. Only advice is don’t buy any caliber without trying it if you are familiar.

Thanks y’all. Much appreciated. Gonna head to the range with a few of my buddies pistols and buy one off of him instead.

PSA: anybody with a Galco IWB holster, check the screw tightness.

I carry one of two guns with these holsters everyday, got this one out the other day and one of the screws fell out and I lost the backside piece.

Luckily I work in a machine shop and made one out of a piece of 316 stainless.

I checked my other holster and all 4 were loose on it as well.

    Check your screws!
