What are the benefits of a 4 spd trans over a 5 spd trans? Towing? Gas mileage? 0-60 performance?

I'm looking for my first Tacoma, a used 09 or 10 DBL 4x4. I have just been looking for a short while but recently found an 09 with very low miles that is 3k less than any other comparable Tacoma I have found yet. I ran the VIN number and it has a 4 spd tranny which makes me hesitate.

Interesting, because the truck I am looking at is a 2009 Dbl Cab 4WD 6 cyl with and when I ran the vin through a decoder it said it had a 4 spd auto? Is the site wrong? It did say it was a 6 cyl as does the ad.

If it's a 6 cyl, it's incorrect. All the 6 cylinder autos have a 5 spd transmission. The 6 cyl manuals have a 6 spd transmission.

If it helps, I don't believe there was a 4 cylinder available for the double cab in '09.
