    a couple months. the springs and hangers have been no issue. when my long travel units got welded in and i attempted that fucking idles carrier mount shit went south. since then i had my driveline reworked and stoxk carrier bearing mount back. upon checking i was out 2* put shims in and its better but not right. text me if you like.

    i went to a one piece driveshaft when i put the crawl box in. way better than dealing with the 2 piece shit. that carrier bearing is garbage

    ive asked about that but was hesitent about things from what ive read on max speed issues. id like to know more on your experience.

    Yah I am not against it. Not the happiest bunch but have some good parts none the less. Try to support the smaller guys if I can. Need a JFR or a modified version at some point.

    Hey guys.
    Quick question, how do you find the “bilsten” suspension? They came out standard in the Hilux TRD. Seem to have a good wrap. I’m looking at getting the 2” lift kit with heavy duty springs for carrying weight.

    Also,looking at what products LC engineering have... the have a piston that is 13:1 ratio. Cylinders need to be bored out a tad. Your thoughts? What else is recommended if I went down this path?
    I’ve emailed LC engineering to ask for theor input soniist waits for a reply.

    I have a 4" aluminum, one piece. Won't be for everyone for certain. A 3" steel would be plenty strong for your needs. Just needs enough slip. May need a double cardan joint? Just need to discuss that with the builder. Tom Woods, makes some stout ones.

    I had extremely bad wheel hop from day one, with my '06 4x4 leaf springs. Just changing to the XRunner leaf springs, eliminated 90% of it. www.calvertracing.com is whom I chose to secure the last 10%. As their front attachment points pivot with axle travel to prevent travel binding. Other brands are static up front, and fight against the geometry of the travel. Calvert Racing makes them for the 4x4 and XR. Only true negatives are the metal heim joint noises, and the front bushing gets replaced with a solid aluminum piece. Which slightly adds to the overall noise. Wouldn't hear it over squeaky leaf springs by any means.

    I haven't any experience with the Bud Builts. No comment.

    I will say that the front Calvert mounts, plus their link bars, attached in a triangulated manner to the axle, with some Johnny joints, bushings, or heims, would do both axle wrap prevention and lateral movement prevention. At the cost of off-road clearance though.

    Unless you're using corn juiced ethanol E85+, stay away from that compression ratio. It'd be a literally ticking time bomb. The combustion chamber isn't designed for that style of compression, with day to day driving in mind. Unlike the Mazda Sky Active engines.

    Find another ratio, or mod to supplement power goals.

    Ah ok. So I’m assuming your advise would also be to stay away from a 12:1 ratio piston too?
    I’m just going off what LC engineering have in there parts list. Apart from the 12:1 which uses the standard bore, then it’s down to the standard 10:1 piston.
    So stick with standard or 12:1 may be ok?
