I don't have a Tacoma, but lots of mirrors!
You cannot, and I strongly emphasize CANNOT, use the factory temperature sensor that is in the vehicle. Doing so will cause expensive damage to not only your truck but to the mirror too due to the mirror backfeeding into the trucks computer and vice versa. Though it’s only 5 volts, it’s enough to fry the electronics. You will need to install the dedicated temperature sensor and wiring that we supply with the mirror kit.

I hope this clear up any confusion on this matter.

Mirror ordered today. Not sure how fast I will get it in. May be asking more questions once I receive it.

Bob is fantastic! I installed the mirror tonight and already have it synched up for my 2 garage doors. I also ran the wires
for the temperature sensor, will have to solder those and heat shrink them another night. Pretty scared I would get all
the trim off and not be able to get things back together. I was pleasantly surprised how well I was able to run
the temperature wires through the headliner and down the A pillar column. Zip tied the temperature wires to black loom
already in place. Ran wires behind the wire loom and even used black zip ties.

I wanted this mirror to function as the garage door opener and to see the outside temperature. I am halfway there and
already loving this mod. No wonder Tacoma World is such a popular forum and great threads with lots of ideas.

    Thank you!

Doug - see? It wasn't so bad! :) But I completely understand your concerns - if you don't do this sort of work on a regular basis, it can seem a bit daunting, but as you've now seen for yourself, it really is not too difficult a job. Best thing is to take your time & not rush things. And if you run into an issue, there are many people here on the forum who are very willing to help a fellow Tacoma owner!

Thank you again for buying the mirror - I appreciate it greatly!

Just found this thread and Bob’s EBay store. But I will be receiving a Auto Dim Homelink Compass mirro kit tomorrow. I will install it and and see how it goes. Now I am think of same mirror with the backup camera display. If so this on will be up sale.

Ordered my mirror from Bob. Auto Dim, Rear Camera, Homelink. Plug and Play. Should be here Saturday. AS I have 2010 TRD Sport I have the Temp and Compass in roof console so didn’t meet that on the new one, really just the Homelink as camera and auto-aim were there also. For sale is the mirro I bought off Ebay seller would let me return so it’s for sale. Auto Dim, Homelink an Compass with harness and wire cover. This is for a truck who has a no frill mirror and wand to update. $75 shipped. Check it and it works as far as I can tell Homelink and Compass both function and Auto Dim couldn’t tell in day long.

Bob is a great vendor also with sharing information.
Even though I did not purchase the mirror, only the 10 pin harness.
Bob gave me a few options. The plug and play or solder-splice.
I choose the cheaper route and received the harness plus a mounting screw quickly at a great price.
    Homelink mirror installed and working.

Just wanted to report another great transaction with bob. He made my purchase super easy and even helped me get a better deal through Tacomaworld. I was about to order a new radio and spend a ton of money converting my camera in the mirror to the dash and now I am completely content!

None...Toyota did not offer any mirrors with temperature display from the factory for the 2015 model year. The only years the Tacoma ever had a mirror that had temperature display from the factory was 2012 and 2013...these two model years had, in addition to the base flip mirror, an auto dim mirror with compass & temperature display and 3.3" backup camera display and another one with the same features plus Homelink garage door opener buttons. Otherwise for the 2015 model year, it was pretty much limited to the base flip mirror and an auto dim mirror with compass display and Homelink garage door opener buttons.
