I've seen Chevy trucks in this series run better after they get a new battery. I've been an advocate of preventative battery replacement. I went through a string of Advance Gold batteries that would predictably short out at 40 months like they were programmed to fail. I managed to swap around a few of them by using the latest receipt. The guys at the advance store treat me right. I switched to Interstate with the Tacoma. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of battery choices in my location.

Right now I have the Tacoma and three Nissans that all use the size 24F battery. I've been known to swap batteries around between vehicles depending on which vehicle is most critical. I like to keep a better battery in my daughter's car than I do in my usual DD with a manual transmission. I found a shorted battery will quickly ruin an alternator on two of the Nissans. One of the Hondas would light up every light check engine or trouble light on the dash when it detects a battery short like the ECU was going out. I've seen shorted batteries cause enough problems that I try to stay ahead of them.

Exactly.. Looks like a fiber optic cable. I have an older Borescope that I bought at Walmart around five years ago.. It was kind of primitive only good for looking inside a cylinder.

That's why I like my old cheap nontaxable antique Japanese vehicles.

Arkansas collects a 6.5% state sales tax rate on the purchase of all vehicles which cost more than 4,000 dollars. Vehicles which were purchased at a cost of 4,000 dollars or less are not applicable for state sales tax, and will not be charged.

Then if you buy a new vehicle, you only pay sales tax on the sale difference amount.

I promise you it's super easy. I've pulled dashes out on Tacomas so many times. It's like a 45-minute job, and I bet once you've done it once you can do it in 15 minutes

I pulled the dash out of a 4Running at the junk yard one day just for the hell of it. It wasn't too bad.. The weather was just right.
