    What?
    • 2 12 volt DC batteries in parallel (++),(—)yields 12 v with double the current.
    • 2 12v batteries in series (-+)(-+) yields 24 volts at same current.
    • 2 crossed (+-)X(-+), shorts both batteries and yields heat, fire and possible explosions.

Agreed. Keep reading down, the next morning I sobered up and drew a picture.

Sorry. Not that I was a lazy shitposter, but that you had to sober up. I frankly was surprised because your handle denotes intelligence and coherence in and of itself! The concept of this thread is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fucked up. Crossing the terminals by accident ok, but installing the leads is beyond my ability to visualize in even the most neophytic.

Lol. No worries. I mix things up in my head all the time, even sober. I probably shouldn't post without a whiteboard at the ready, doubly so if beer is involved.

This thread shows the power of inattention when you think you know what you're doing. In more ways than one.

I’ve melted a wrench while I held it making poor choices around large batteries wired in parallel by grounding them to interesting things. Shit happens.

It really doesn't matter the expertise, the fact we are humans means at various points in our lives we will make mistakes, and as you experienced being in a hurry is a cause for a number of them. I guess anyone in this thread who has never made a mistake can laugh at the rest of us. Otherwise, well you're just reading some ahole hypocrite negative comments. One thing I do like about this thread is that it helps me to know who the forum aholes are, that's helpful with me being pretty new, lol.
Glad to read you have it fixed now.

Well when wit and humor like yours are thrown in, you fall right out of the ahole category. Pretender.
