Does anyone know if fox sells replacements top mounts for their coilovers? One of the 3 bolts that mounts the Coilover to the frame snapped off on me and for the life of me I can’t get it out (thanks NY salt). The top mount disconnects from the Coilover by 1 bolt, I’m hoping I can just purchase a new top mount and be on my way. A new Coilover would be ridiculous!

Yes, there is a part # for the top hat. What shock do you have?

They’re the 2.5 factory series coilovers for the bds 6” lift. I’ve attached a photo of the style they are.

I’d think you’d be able to get that thing out. If it’s broken off flush did you try drilling through what’s left of the bolt and then use ez out? If it broke from over tightening and not galling the drill bit itself could possibly spin the piece of bolt out of the bottom of the mount.

There’s just a bolt that threads through the top of the Coilover body to attach the mount to it. I assumed fox would sell one as it’s an easily removable and replaceable part. I’m sure I’m not the first to have the issue

When all else fails Polyperformance has the major factory hookup from all of the major brands Fox/ King/ SAW etc. etc. You can find all the little parts that you may not be able to otherwise get from the manufacturer themselves.

Unfortunately they probably won’t. You can call customer service and they might give you a part # but Fox doesn’t sell to the public. You’d have to go through distribution.

I drilled it and tried to EZ out with no luck. Broke 2 of my extractors trying to get it out. It’s like it’s welded in there.

I certainly hope I can get something done since I spent ~$2000 on a set of coilovers and rear reservoir shocks for my truck.

I didn’t say you wouldn’t be able to buy the part. I said you probably won’t be able to buy it directly from Fox.

Damn I did the same thing with king and they would’ve sold me one but I ended up getting the bolt out with a drill and a lot of penetrating oil.

I don't understand how you can't get out the coilovers if the bolt snapped off. If there is no head then theoretically that section of the top hat should just fall right off once every other fastener has been removed, coilover assembly and everything.

King sells direct to the public. Different business models I guess. Fox relies on their distribution for sales. They are the manufacturer.

I’m not saying I agree with it, that’s just what I’ve been told.

I got the Coilover off the truck and tried to drill the snapped bolt out but it won’t come out, so I’m going to need a new top hat. The top hat attaches to the Coilover body via a large Allen head bolt that goes through the top hat and shock body

No problem! I had to put it back together to be able to set it back on the ground. I wish I didn’t even touch the bolt to begin with lol. I didn’t even put much pressure on it and it snapped right off.

Fox designed it where the top hat is threaded so you just thread a bolt in, honestly I thought about just drilling it out and putting a bolt through and a nut on the bottom

Fox sells that part for sure but I doubt anyone has it in stock to sell you.

IMO drill it out and nut and bolt it. It might be worth it to drill out the threads on the other 5 to do the same since they will all corrode to become 1 soon enough.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion

That's what is happening and you need a 5 gallon bucket of anti-seize and yearly maintenance to keep it at bay.
