I wonder how much lateral stretch had occured. Timing gets fucky as belts age out. Seen it happen with chain often enough too

ive yet to deal with a stretched belt on a toyota. the belts are beefy. typically the water pump takes the belts out way before the belt actually fails.


ive had 2 4.0 tacoms with stretched chains from lack of oil changes and loads of camry chains from lack of oil (burners)

 

I dunno that you'd want a lunchbox locker in the front, I think you'd find yourself going straight too often
