    Sorry for the double post.

Just want to know if its ok to use H4 on the headlights.
I know its an H11, but I have read some links that it is ok.

Wasnt sure if its ok on 2015 Tacoma

The headlamps on my 2015 Tacoma use H4 or HB2/9003 bulbs, not H11. H4 is not interchangeable with H11.

HB2/9003 and H4 are insignificantly different, IMO. I run H4 bulbs in my truck.

    Let me clarify.
    I have a 2015 2.7 SR5. Standard halogen lamp headlights.
I looked up the bulb list for the truck as I was looking to upgrade the stock bulbs and I found that the size is listed as H11.
My friend had some new H4 Philips Diamond vision bulbs. If I am not mistaken there is no physical difference and I also read they are somewhat interchangeable.

I wasnt sure and tried searching, but find nothing.

Sounds like its prob not a good idea.

2015 Tacoma uses a 9003/H4 headlight. Whatever source you are looking at that says H11 is wrong. 2016+ takes H11.

Dimond Vision and other blue coated bulbs reduce output. The bulb you mentioned will work, light color will be whiter, but output will be lower than stock.

100% exactly the same. 3 prong. It fits perfectly. Seems to work....but I am nervous about effects I may be missing.

My apologies folks. I am complete idiot.
Yes. The bulb is 9003. The new one is H4.

And yes, supposedly they are interchangeable.

    Deepest apologies to everyone.

The bulbs for your 2015 are shown on p536 of your owners manual. It doesn't take much searching to find that.

In all seriousness, if you're this out of touch with details like this, a dealer or mechanic is your best bet.

9003 and H4 are interchangeable, just slightly different specs for output tolerances.

    @ crash.

I agree the light output is less. Going back to stock.
Any suggestions for a whiter bright light than stock?

In the past I have tried LED, but in halogen lamps they blind oncoming traffic way too much.
That was a couple of years ago....not sure if LED technology has changed to help that.

Bulbfacts.com shows a few LED brands that apparently work well in halogens housings.

This subject I did find. And a boatload of different opinions.

    Any suggestions?

All the headlight data on output and color temp options is in the 2nd Gen headlight thread mentioned earlier, scroll down to the output charts.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/

Philips Racing Vision +150 H4 is the whitest output and highest stock wattage output without coating the low beam filament to negatively affect performance. It does coat the high beam though.

LEDs have improved but still create irregular patterns and glare.

    Crash,
If I am understanding the lighting post correctly, the Philips CAN be used with a stock wiring harness and will not run too hot for housing....correct?

    Correct, they are stock wattage.

Dedicated fog upgrade thread is here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/

Rigid Selective Yellow SAE fogs is what I would recommend:
