Would there be enough room for a super-turbocharged 1grfe in these trucks?

My UCON never was fully working right 100% of the time. With TRD injectors or the Siemens injectors. Occasional extended crank. Occasional “womp womp womp” at WOT. @BassAckwards knows about that womp womp!

If you’re running a UCON and it has been completely trouble-free I’m happy for you. If it hasn’t been trouble-free I can relate!

I hated that I had to have gadget and Scott hold my hand if I changed a part on the truck and that I couldn’t pull the levers or turn the knobs myself.

I don’t buy Gadgets story that the the FIC injectors are a faulty product. I think he just doesn’t have any interest in spending time or resources to make additional tunes for the UCON. There’s just no profit in it for him.

THANK YOU @HPTuners for giving me the freedom to tune my own truck.

Mine is 3.5 Tom Woods and is great until I hit about 95mph and things start moving around a bit. I want to either go bigger diameter or run a modded two-piece like @ItalynStylion had made.

You told me before who you had make your driveshaft, but I forgot. It was someone local to us wasn’t it?

Not just the ability, not the want either. No one is interested in driving the speed limit in this state outside a few select people

Get a double cardon joint if you go one piece. Easier to eliminate vibes

I cant wait to install the FICs. More people seem to like them and have not seen any real negative. I can see URD just not wanting to dig in since its not their idea. When I get down to brass and tax on installing them im sure ill have more questions but knowing HP tuner will be there with some nice tunes by folks ill be set. funny how made up my mind not to do the UCON based on price but have pretty much spend close to that grabbing various parts.

“Womp womp womp” I believe you are describing what I experience from time to time.

like a slower rev limiter type hit / cutout at WOT?

That’s what I always assumed actually. Could never get it to repeat for a sample to send to Scott. So I just gave up on it.

So I guess I don’t know what the womps are. I’ll consider that a good thing I suppose.

Honestly, I dong go around WOT very often anyway. Supercharger was more to get the truck back to being drivable again after adding all the weight. And for towing.

I just got carried away, as I’m prone to do...

Kinda the same thing for me.........I don’t wot too often. I don’t tow anything, I have a little fun just not all the time. Kinda baby it I guess. I just like having the power there when I need it or when I want to have a little fun.

It’s too bad the UCON doesn’t have a CEL function that records freeze frame data when guardian kicks in. No way to know exactly what it saw that it didn’t like. So you’re left to try and carry a laptop everywhere you go and be constantly doing logs and attempting to reproduce it.

I get that not everyone runs around at WOT daily. Neither do I, but on that odd occasion I’m trying to quickly merge or get out of a tight situation, it’s nice to know that the UCON isn’t going to cause me to be in an accident because suddenly it decides it doesn’t like something.

Yeah, that’s just it. When I do WOT it’s normally for a reason. Like pulling out into a smaller than acceptable hole in traffic, aggressive on ramp merge, etc. (don’t judge me. Driving in North Jersey simply requires A-hole moves from time to time).

So the guardian kicking in in those situations IS a problem.

Much more so than a hurt pride stop light deal.

No judgement here! In Houston people either intentionally drive like assholes or they’re super slow to the point that they are unintentionally assholes. I just want to get where I’m going with minimal drama and sometimes it takes a little bit of working the go pedal to make that happen.

I don’t need a nanny ECU to protect me from myself. I need an obedient ECU that does what I tell it to do regardless of how it’s feeling that day.
