Anyone have these new headlights? I’ve heard mixed reviews about headlights from them from good to terrible. Right now they’re on sale for $100 off however I’m in Hawaii and they won’t do free shipping they say to place your order and then you’ll get an email telling you how much shipping is going to be. That sounds a little shady to me, don’t wanna place an order for $400 and then get an email saying I owe 100 to 150 for shipping I would like to know before I commit.

    thanks

Id wait to see if someone makes a kit to install the 2020 factory LED lighting.

I have the "old" version -- they're actually re-branded Spyder Auto headlights if you look them up. Do you know if they updated the stock halogen bulbs that were in these housings? The version I have were really weak and the seal cap they used made it really difficult to find aftermarket bulbs that fit. I had to try a half-dozen different LED bulbs until I found (what I think to be) the only fan-cooled LEDs that fit them. You can plop HIDs in but you have to cut the seals.

Which LED lights did you find that worked? I just installed these same headlights and love them but miss the LEDs. Didn’t know they would have such a weird housing.

They look like their output would be terrible. I'd look up some of @crashnburn80 or @MESO reviews of aftermarket lights.

The Spyder headlights paired with their stock bulbs are dog shit.

    Get these:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQBWR5F?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As far as low-beam output goes, the Spyder headlights with these LEDs are still slightly worse than OEM, but much better than the stock crap they give you in the projector. The cutoff line is fantastic, but the output is still a little dim. Points for being more daylight colored, though.

High-beams are a different story. When paired with these LED bulbs, the high-beams are ridiculously bright. An enormous improvement over the stock bulbs in these housings and a large improvement over OEM. I think the high-beam housings and lenses in the Spyder headlights mesh very well with LEDs. Give them a shot and you'll be surprised. I don't even need a light bar now this shit is so bright.

    1500 MSRP.
Group buyers from July still waiting on theirs.
Lots of reviews of them not working properly. Lots of issues of them having bad wiring.

Bought a faux TRD grill with garnish. It seems like it was just an alibaba.com special. The garnish did not fit and requires trimming to make work. I contacted them prior to trimming and it was a one message per day communication with them. They had me go as far as taking video of the impingement for proof.

In the end, they offered me $40 for the garnish.

tl;dr Communication sucks, seemingly cheap product, meh

Don’t our trucks use H11 bulbs for high/low/fog? I take it that Tacoma beast lights use different bulbs?

Yeah the Tacoma beast (they’re actually Spyder Auto — Tacoma beast just re brands them) housings take a different bulb. I’m not exactly sure why but they chose H7. So when you get your lights you’ll see there’s an H7 to H11 adapter.

I've heard about communication issues with TacomaBeast from a lot of people. Also about them just selling rebranded stuff for a higher price. All of which is common out there. But on the flip side, at least I know about it so I stay away so I dont get caught in these issues

War of attrition really. Make it annoying enough so that people won’t bother.
