I've been wanting/needing something anti-skid in the bed. Plenty of discussion of bed mats in the 2nd gen forum but not much here. There's the OEM mat for $100+ but I thought about two of the 4x6x1/2 stall mats from Tractor Supply at ~$25 each. I could cut to fit and have enough left over for the tailgate. There'd be a seam but oh well. Other option would be high quality roll-on bed liner.

Any thoughts? Any danger of the two mats flying out?

I was given a SB mat. It works great in my LB. Go for the Tractor Supply ones. You'll have no problems.

As somebody who hauls around stall mats, I like my OEM mat. Check the weights and you won't have to trim them.

Did the OEM. Bought it off Amazon for roughly $90. It has good weight to it and nothing moves around. Worth the money.

I was just about to buy a bed mat, then the production I'm on bought a ton of 3/4" thick rubber gym floor mat for a single scene.
I obviously took one of those sheets and traced an employees OEM Tacoma bed mat, and made myself an even tougher version of the stock option.
The guy that let me trace his bed mat, also got me to make him one. It's what he still uses.

They have the roll out rubber mats at TS. You pay by the foot. I paid around $50 for my long bed. Once i traded for my short bed, i just cut it shorter.

    Two thicknesses to pick from.

The OEM mat is great. But I understand if you want to save a few bucks. at 3/4" thick they should be fairly heavy. I wouldn't worry about them going airborne. My OEM TACOMA mat is only about 1/4-5/16 thick.

OEM from Amazon, absolutely no complaints other than it’s a little stinky because of off gassing.

I had that too, for about a week. Texas heat and all fixed that real quick.

I was given a 2 piece bed mat from an F150. Aftermarket style. One was almost big enough to fit the box. I trimmed them down and threw them in. Can't go wrong with free. It was tough to cut. Used a skill saw. I might need to buy a new saw:D. The mats work great keeping stuff from sliding around.

I had this same debate when I picked up my OR. Ended up just going with the OEM for ease and convenience. My dealer was near the same price as online so picked it up and installed in the parking lot before I pulled away. Now I do have a LoMax so it won't be easily stolen. If I did not have a cover, I may have gone a cheaper route.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Keep an eye on Craigslist. I picked up my OEM, in box for $20.

This worked for me as well. Paid around $40. If this blows out of the bed you will be having bigger problems than a missing mat, you're in a hurricane.

I have the OEM bed mat and love it. Should be the #1 modification for new Tacoma owners.

i got a very heavy non-oem off ebay (new) for about $72 about summer 2018. it is stamped to trim
for short bed but comes ready to drop in for long bed.
the advantage (to me) over the OEM is it has ribs running front to back. OEM ribs run at 45 degree angle to sides.
this makes a difference where debris and water are directed during sweep out, rain, etc.. OEM directs to the sides where it gets under the mat.
mine directs to the tailgate where it leaves the bed. just for comparison.
my exact purchase is no longer available from seller otherwise i would have posted link to it. likely
others picking up the slack. pay attention to the ribs if you think it will mater to you.

    edit:
here it is from another seller. they are all over the place:
