Do you guys do the suspension upgrades yourself or do you farm it out?

Personally I did it all in my driveway, a second set of hands would have been nice, however not necessary.

Nice that you and your Grandfather got to spend some quality time together working on your Tacoma! I would have loved that opportunity.

So now that I have 265/70 tires on the stock o/r billies...

The steering wheel yanks side to side over bumps now... I'm not sure if an alignment will fix this as I'm sure less articulation probably has something to do with it...??? (Suspension components are all in good shape and tight.)

I'm scheduled to have an alignment tomorrow to try and narrow down another issue that is common, "the steering feeling floaty." Add about 100lbs and that goes away quickly. I'm not sure even after reading a hundred pages, what causes it. All in all the truck does track straight as far as alignment goes.

In other news, I added a faux pro grille from Mad Hornets (outstanding quality and packaging) for the time being until I figure out what I really want.

You are not alone. I happen to LIKE the chrome on my 2019 Silver SR5 Access Cab. It just wouldn't look right without some chrome. o_O

I happen to think that chrome looks especially good on white or silver trucks. I have an ‘18 Cav Blue and I have been eliminating chrome. Might just be a phase I’m going through.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Chrome is fine, but you have to consider the whole. I've been darkening down the trim on my Barcelona Red because it strikes me as being a darker red and just looked better with black trim.

It started with the wheels. I originally shopped for some chrome/polished slotted wheels (70s retro) and was reminded how much of PIA those things are to keep looking good. Once I went with a dark bronze painted wheel, the chrome trim really started to stick out visually. There's a black taco a few posts back with chrome wheels, looks pretty sharp.

That's odd given you're on stock suspension. More castor might help with the bump steer and twitchy handling.

What's the psi on the new tires?

They had 35 lbs but I dropped them down to 30 this morning. I will see how much of a difference it makes later. It might just be me... I've been driving a fwd beater I bought to keep the miles off the Tacoma for awhile. So that might have something to do with it as well. But I still plan to get an alignment this evening. It's been awhile none-the-less.

I have a black Taco, and I've found that the red accents, and the chrome badging (not the grill) just look better to me. I get why others would want to subdue the chrome on other colors, but for me, the chrome pops on black better.

So much this... also depends on what you have going on with wheel selection and other accents. Black and white trucks can always go with or without. The stuff like the fog light trim on the limited just looks like nonsense.

I think a more subdued look is better on the cement. Interior- I don’t like the chrome on the vents or start/4x4 rings. The cup trim, shift and door handles doesn’t bother me. The rest was just too much in the wrong places.

I like some chromium color but I hate the the cup holder trim ring. The reflection bounces off the passenger door window and is either distracting as hell or right in my eye. Stupid. Of course there is no replacement for the MT ONLY AT.

I ordered the grill from Mad hornets also with their garnish just to try it out. How's the quality so far? I mean it was $115 shipped to the house so a year or 2 is all I'm expecting to get out of it.

That chromed ring around the shift boot is WAY worse ("I'm blind!"). All the chrome interior trim is on the hit list ("anodized" red paint and matte clear coat), though.

I asked about adding more caster at the local shop. I was told it was not adjustable on late model vehicles.

The one I got from Mad Hornets so far is fantastic. I have a '17, so I happily don't have to deal with TSS or garnish, but I have heard no complaints other than maybe some trimming of a tab. Can't beat the price.

Please don't make this into a OEM fan argument, these are all over TW, and just like impeachment, if your mind is made up, not much is going to change it.
