The stock rack has plenty of power, the ends deflect under load and that’s where the issues occur

Not yet. I'm going to be getting 14" of travel on the back with my new pack, and might do a +1 width on the front; so very long-mid travel?

Yeah, this is true. Wait till I get the hydro bumps in

Sounds like you’re gonna rip the lower control arm tabs off :)

They haven't come off yet, but I'll be beefing them up substantially. Unfortunately I've already got custom armor and cut parts off the frame, or I'd be looking at your kit.

You keeping it SOAin the rear? Why a +1 as opposed to other options?

How low does the skid hang? Can you measure off a reference point? I want to compare to my current skids if you have a second to check! See what the clearance gains are

Yup, SOA for clearance on the rocks.

Trying to balance travel with overall width of the truck. I need to do some math on the front before I build it.

Just an FYI, but my sua pack hangs no lower than the bottom of the diff. And although I did drag it a few times on the rubicon, it was my shackle hangers that gave me far more problems.

I've been struggling with this as well. I'm coming to the realization that my SOA isn't going to offer the amount of bump travel that will be ideal for the higher speed stuff but I play in the rocks a lot so I'm concerned about going SUA. I know, I want it all but the rear cant keep up with the front as it is and I cycle 12.75" in the rear.

Cutting out the entire front suspension and a crossmember is minimal trimming?

Yeah, for true high-speed (or even medium speed) dessert work I think SUA is the answer, and live with it on the rocks.

But out here there isn't anything with big whoops sections, it's fire and class 4 roads, where the clearance is more of an issue.

You hit the nail on the head. I live in SoCal where everywhere I go has lots of bumps so to me SUA is the way to go.

If I were out there I'd probably do the same. At least from what I see of the pictures.

Can you post some updates in the PA thread when you start this endeavor. I may be interested in a set up similar as well. Might as well get some of this shit figured out before deciding on a front set up. I'm ok with mine now, but would eventually like to redo the front and rear set-ups with more travel and droop in mind.

Yes. I'll be posting in PA and my build thread. I'll also have a more detailed thread at the other place.
