I haven’t really checked to be honest. It might be doable with long needle nose

Well that's just a picture of the twist cap at the bottom of the headlight and the connector I can see in there. I don't know what would have to be done to disable the actual pro illumination. I just had the headlight accessible and took a picture. Maybe another member can shed some light as to what needs to be done.

As for the badging, nothing truly comparable comes to mind. For anything else (like the trunk in your example) is an easier fix by removing something on the exterior. All I can say is:
Do I like the PRO headlights better than the regulars? Yes.
Would I like the PRO headlights better without the etching? Yes.
Would I crack my headlights open to remove it? No.

There's a lot going on in there. Hard to get a clear picture.

I found the high beams to be better than the stock halogens. So YMMV I guess.
I use low beams 90% of the time, so low beam performance matters the most to me.

The pro lighting is way too showy for me. I have some real pro parts and some fake ones lol, I also have pro 4runner parts, but the lights are too much for me.

Same. The chrome strip is inside the housing and not nearly as noticeable compared to something like badging, grille, etc. My 2020 TRD Sport tail lights have the same chrome strip in them so it matches, which I’m fine with. To each their own but I don’t find the chrome strip inside to be a huge issue and my truck is basically blacked out otherwise. I didn’t want TRD PRO on the front because I don’t drive a PRO so it seemed silly to me. But that’s just me. Again, to each their own.

EDIT: To be fair, I do also have some TRD parts like the shift knob, TRD 4Runner rims, etc. but there is something about actually badging my truck a TRD PRO that would annoy me for some reason. lol

I ordered two from my local Culver City Toyota yesterday. They matched the prices listed here which turned out to be 10% over cost and no shipping charges. I do have to pay sales tax but I'd have to declare that and pay it no matter where I buy from. One of the lights would be there today and the other early next week. I've sent an email message to the person listed earlier in this thread regarding connectors but have not heard back yet.

No CA tax charged at Olathe Toyota, but of course shipping charges.

I never got a reply either and that was weeks ago. No worries. I prefer to wait for a harness from an actual vendor website with a warranty, etc. Or I might just construct my own if I get motivated enough. We have everything needed in this thread. Just need to buy the materials.

That’s odd, I emailed him yesterday and he replied a couple hrs later. I was able to complete my transaction with him within 30 mins. Maybe try emailing him again and just double check you have the right email address. The harness he created looked pretty legit (based on the pics).

I clicked the link posted earlier and sent him a message via that. I'll try it one more time.

Regarding Ca. Sales Tax. Everyone who buys anything out of state and is not charged sales tax is required to pay Ca. Use Tax, which is the same percentage. Since I have a Ca. State Resale Certificate and have to both collect sales tax and file quarterly returns with the state - and having been audited previously by the old State Board of Equalization, it's just much easier for me to either buy in state and pay the tax or remember to declare it on my next quarterly return. For many years there was really no effective mechanism in place to enforce the Use Tax rules for the general public. That's changing rapidly as now we see Amazon and other large retailers collecting sales tax on all online orders and in the last few years there is now a line item on your Ca. individual income tax return to declare what you used to pretty easily get away with. The ironic thing is that, as a commercial photographer, almost everything I do is delivered electronically where no sale tax applies as there are no tangible goods involved, so my sales tax returns, which still have to be filed are either zero or just a few dollars if I've sold prints.

I just doublechecked and that's the same email I used. I'll try again. Maybe he's out of town or backed up or something else.

Does anyone have any output shots of these on a wall from say 25ft. away? Curious as to what the pattern looks like.

Got a hold of Mike Eggers the second time around and the harness adapter has been ordered. Seeing that commercial photography is what I do for a living, I'll try and shoot a shot for y'all but it won't be until this next weekend. Well, that'll depend on when the harness gets here too.

Let me know what you think about the install process; I see a lot of folks making the upgrade but I haven't see a ton of say vids detailing the install process...just don't want to get in over my head lol
