I was in product development for 5 years before my current position. It was almost laughable the number of times people would come into the prototype shop with an "original" idea. The first thing we did when we saw an RFQ come in was google it!:rofl:

One guy thought he invented a flat iron that you can use on a gas grill or stove. Come on Mannnn...... Thought he was going to patent it and everything.

Yes unless you are in bio engineering or space expeditions, it's probably been done before

Cleaned up and refinished my Caliraised light bar that's hidden in my bumper.
I also upgraded the tiny useless washers they provided. The bar kept rotating upwards and pointing to the stars.

Might want to sand/repaint those brackets before the rust gets out of control. I did that last year with my bed rack.

Yes I noticed the little bit of rust. Very normal sight for Alberta Canada lol
I will redo them in the spring. I've started OperationRustStop but it's going to take a while...

I ended up rewiring this indicator light over the weekend. Once I got my Rigid 360s installed (which are amazing) they're bright enough that I could tell when my fogs were on without the indicator light.

It made me realize the way I had it wired did some funky stuff with the headlight switch in the parking light position. The fogs would turn ON with the fog switch in the OFF position and the parking lights ON and then they'd turn off if I switched the fog switch to ON with parking lights ON. It worked as intended with the headlights on.

After digging into the wiring diagrams I realized this was most likely because I was pulling positive power from the dash light circuit and grounding to the fog relay negative trigger (which controlled the on/off function). With the dash light circuit energized but the headlight circuit not (no fog light anytime mod at the time) I was somehow triggering the fog relay. With the fog circuit energized it worked as intended (so might be okayish with fog light anytime mod- still wouldn't necessarily recommend) but I didn't feel good about crossing two circuits without fully understanding whats going on. I'm pretty sure I was somehow energizing the fog relay in reverse with the power from the dash lights.

To fix the issue I rewired my indicator light by running a wire directly from the indicator bulb positive terminal to the fuse box under the hood to tap into the switched 12 volt power output from the fog relay and grounded the negative on the bulb to the chassis. This means the light pulls power directly from the fogs when they're switched on and off so it works perfectly as intended, might be overkill but I feel much better about it.

I wanted to share this learning because I got several messages from people asking how I wired it and I wouldn't feel good fixing issues with mine and not making the knowledge public.

While I was under the hood I also did the fog light anytime mod since I've got bright ass fogs worth using now.

Have not created these yet via 3D printer color-matched to factory plastic wanted to know what you guys thought (would you run 8 switches like this) driver seat moved all the way forward and passenger seat moved all the way back.

@JustEd, oh yeah buddy! I've got so many things to wire up. I don't have any blanks left of the steering wheel and my cubby under the HVAC controls is full. I really don't want to run wire up to the overhead sunglass area. I was about to start cutting up my center console and add about five switches near the lone cupholder.

What kind of switches were you thinking of using? I'd be impressed if you had enough space to get four on each side.
