So I have an Avital system on the truck, it worked fine until i pulled the battery out of the truck over night to charge it. Now everything works fine but it wont start the truck. It just cranks away with no start, however if I hold the key next to the key cylinder it works perfectly fine. I figured my XK05 bypass shit the bed so I ordered a new one programmed for my truck but still no luck. Any ideas on what to do? I'm trying to figure this out before I bring it to a audio shop

The Avital/DEI box forgot the key info.. you will need two keys that are capable of starting your truck.. call around cause some shops wont touch the avital stuff.. the $50 to have a shop do it will save you a few hours.

well, the rabit hole i went down was a waste of time.. get into the dash and find the model number on the DEI box and google search instructions.. you will find a few youtube videos of how to get the box into "Learn mode" but all attempts will fail and provide you a lot of stress.

I'm pretty mechanically advanced and the exact instructions from DEI didn't even work, I tried all the tricks and everything i found online and had to find a historic alarm/car audio shop that had special tribal knowledge to perform the key programming.

I am assuming the valet button is the black on under the dash coming from the box its self correct? And by "button" is that referring to the engine start button on the remote?

Edit - I just got it into to mode and it did all the honks ect just like it states however still no dice with starting

It's very odd, everything works, it cranks, the door locks work, it just wont start unless the key is next to the cylinder :angrygirl:

Update - the shop said my XK05 bypass is shot. Both the old and new (refurbished) one. So I ordered a DB3 bypass that will be here Friday and they will be installing it Saturday morning for me
