This happened while driving today - noticed the center of my Qi charging cubby was soft, like the plastic underneath had cracked, and when I poked at the corner (not very hard at all), the bottom detached from the console and fell in! What the hell! Now I understand the prowess of the Tacoma is in the longevity of its drivetrain, and these are all relatively new bells and whistles. That being said, this stuff shouldn't break when you touch it... It's hard not to feel like my truck's interior is fragile now, which is the exact opposite way you should feel when driving a truck. I don't even use the cubby.

I know the dealer will warranty it, along with the tweeter that's buzzing, but this will be the second time my truck is at the dealer for warranty work in two months.

What're some of the interior pieces that have snapped off, split, cracked, or just generally shit the bed on your 3rd gen?

Nothing so far. Mine is a 2017 that I bought in September 2016. Dogs, kids, wheeling, nothing has broke so far.

Mine seems pretty sturdy. Some of the plastic scratches a little too easy but it all seems perfectly fine.

Same here; 2017 and things appear to be in order (the cluster gauge plastic screen though seems cheap and scratches so easily)

Any vehicle can have fragile plastics, any clip can bust when taking it apart. Been there done that multiple times, across multiple manufacturers.

As for your cubby just caving in, who knows. Everything is cheap plastic these days

None at all. Interior is bulletproof. Been thumping on it for over 3 years. No breakage of anything.

Sucks! Have the dealer fix it. You should still be covered by the initial warranty, no?

Mine’s been fine, and everything has held up well despite my young kids, my pointy gear, and my general negligence. Don’t get me started on my 1998 Mazda B2500 interior...

The door panels and dash are a very soft and easy to scratch .... This being my old lady's truck it has her fingernail scratches at the door handle and various other places where it gets touched

I can echo this. If I forget to cut a finger nail and it has the tiniest edge...I have a ton of little scuffs that are driving me bonkers, mainly because I'm the one that put them in there.

Honestly I used blue masking tape on all the areas she scratches now to prevent any worse as well as the sill plates and at a 45 degree angle on the toe scuff area where the speaker is it's my main peve getting the toe kicker scratches

My USB input is loose and wiggles, but hasn’t broken yet. Just makes me nervous not to pull too hard on it with my phone attached.

Nothing breaking after 18 months on my '18, however as others have stated if you look at the interior panels wrong they seem to scratch, it's really annoying.
My '96 with 414,000 miles on it has less interior scratches than my new Tacoma.
