If your going to be running 87 octane gas in the supercharger you will have problems,
You can get a bigger pulley so the supercharger will put out less boost and be careful how you rev the motor to high

If you are in a situation where you can only run 87 you can either drive real slow and stay out of boost or remove all the belts and they dynamic tensioner and put the belts back to stock.

The S/C will run on the bypass and you can drive normally. You wouldn’t need to chance anything on the computer. With these piggybacks you only alter fuel and timing in boost. So if you’re not in boost it’s not doing anything.

Just flip a switch vs an take restriction of a non spinning S/C- yeah the bypass will be open but see how small it is? Serious choke point if those rotors are not spinning.

See, like I said. More to learn. Ideally I would have one switch controlling a replacement or piggyback ECU to select different tunes.
    Examples:
    • Baja mode: like NA timing/fuel spray with 87 octane
    • Freeway mode: 91 with S/C bypassed
    • @CHMM mode for racing minivans in the mall parking lots. :anonymous:

Oh yeah baby, plug and play Supra injectors, thanks @BlackPearl

Now I just need to save up money for an FIC, fuel pump and boom sling

@BlackPearl and I are crossing our fingers that they fit under the fuel rails

@1997tacomav6 suggested buying a use stock injector from a junk yard for measuring ..sounds like a good idea!

    Thanks everyone!

    Hoping it works out!

So plugging in Supra injectors will work just fine no problems without any tune for them?

    Not sure

I’m with you on this point until someone reputable on here says otherwise

Waiting until I have the FIC and harness

    And we shall see

I am however going to install a bigger fuel pump ASAP

Fuel pressure regulator should hold the bigger fuel pump at bay until bigger injectors and FIC are installed .

I drove to Greeley today. I am just about had it with my Duratracs. I may be getting some quiet tires super soon here. Like some Michelin Defender m+s passengers.

What? My tires are great. ~5k on them since I just got them back in April.

What does this have to do with the supercharger thread or my comment on not knowing if my engine is one of the naturally ping-happy ones?

i just want to throw this out there. I really think “ping happy” is just related to year, ECU calibration and transmission type.

03-04 has the ECTS along with traction control etc. it’s fully electronic and it’s probably the most sensitive truck because it’s been refined over the years. Who knows, the timing maps may be more advanced than those on like a 97 manual.

I just think It’s a safe bet to expect ping and the lean out so I’d get all the gear if I were you.
