If you are concerned that your parents are supporting him, how would getting him busted and spending/wasting even more of the parents money on purpose help anything/anyone?

+1, I know plenty of people that are fully functioning members of society that smoke weed. If he's a knucklehead, that what he is. Trees aren't the problem. Also, NEVER SNITCH, especially on your family....

    back to bone stock.
i'm late! here is my take.

i used to smoke weed. i quit when my brother became a cop. i didnt want to financially support the fools that would be shooting at him.

anyways. two brothers that i smoked with. when i quit, they were each smoking $500 per month. one brother married a lady that also smoked. so make them $1000. the married couple is functional. both very successful at life and career. the one single brother, it absolutely destroyed his motivation. he is the smartest mofo i know. quick wit, solid reading retention/memory. graduated from a great university. i had to move away, when he started spiraling downhill. i went back to school and became a civil engineer. i begged him to go back to school too.

now? he has been fired from maybe six jobs. he owes me money. he is currently unemployed and about to be evicted from his apartment with his crappy g-friend. he owes deep 5 figures on credit cards..and he is applying for labor jobs with government..because he heard, "they cant fire you!". i cant even call him because his cell has been cancelled. my friend has become one of the worst human beings possible. negative, selfish, angry..going nowhere. selfpity..you name it. hard to talk to him.

OP..there are two types of pot smokers..which one is he?

Don't stress it, he's going to do what he is going to do. Weed isn't something you can overdose from, there are no addictive properties either. He will either learn to regulate it or just grow out of it.

First, get a paintball gun. Second, every time you know he is going to be around bring the paintball gun. Third, when you see him shoot him in the nuts. Then when he asks what that was for...say "You know...You know."

He will get tired of this and try to fight you. Why you are kicking his ass you explain to him how you feel. If it doesn't work at least it will make you feel a little bit better

How do you know he spends all of his money on pot? In my experience the pot could just be a ruse for a more serious problem. Throwing around accusations is not a good thing, but if he is spending a substantial amount of money each month/day I would be more inclined to think he is popping pills (similiar situation with my brother).

Pills are the new pot and the signs of heavy pill use are easily played off as being high all the time.

Good Luck with your brother, he is lucky to have a brother who cares.

Just because something is legal/illegal does not mean it's right/wrong. Additionally, you would be really surprised to know how much of the majority accepts this if you didn't look at the people who used it in such a negative light.

Where was I trying to justify pot? I was pointing out that if you;re brother is a weak minded little sissy and doesnt want to change, smoking weed or not he will never change. Take away weed and he will find something else to mooch off your parents and be worthless about. I understand your upset, but dont be a douchebag because you cant control your brother like you apparently want to. He could go work for the union at Chrysler. Apparently they dont mind if he gets high and wont fire him even when he is caught on camera.

maybe try taking him off-roading, i mean that's we're on this forum, right? show him that fun/good times can be had without pot, or at least that much. some of the most successful people i have met do smoke "occasionally" but they are adults and understand how to limits themselves. its something everyone has to learn at some point, like those who turn 21 and go binge drinking and realize in a year or whenever that too much is bad.

if that fails, switch his stuff with oregano, grass clippings, pine needles, hair, belly button lint, just something that will taste bad and doesn't get him stoned, at least it'll be funny

I'd kick him out...if he can afford that much weed, he can afford rent.

    or

Just have your parents admit that they're fine with his lifestyle (since letting him live at home for free is enabling this). I've seen people let their lives fall apart just as bad from playing WoW. Some people don't have any self control.

I'd just be glad that it's all he's doing. Could be worse...could be on hard drugs.
