Probably going to order the fronts and wait for the rear, maybe cyber Monday. Also going to have to learn how I should adjust my DSP properly

That's what I would do. Just order the fronts for now while they are on sale! The rears can be ordered later because they are not on sale right now. Plus shipping is free so it doesn't matter that way either.

Jason @jpereira2 one last thing about those speakers. They have good sensitivity which means it doesn't take a ton of power to drive them. Your head unit should be fine. The power rating is between 5 to 70 watts too so if you want more in the future you can add a amp and get even more out of them! They seem to be the best of both worlds.

Wouldn't a component without an amp just waste the component though? Then you get into overgauging your wire, etc etc. I feel like if you want to go down that road, but all means go component, but if you want to avoid that, the Co-Ax is a fine option.

EDIT : I went down that road with my STi. I ended up with a beautiful sounding stereo, but objectively it doesn't sound that much better to my untrained ear than the Kickers I've got in the doors of my truck down. Granted, I've got a dedicated tweeter in the dash, but if memory serves me so does the 2G in the door. I'm going to eventually do the Subaru / Kicker upgrade.

What I'm regretting on this truck a bit is the Alpine powered sub I've got. It's not bad, but it doesn't have that stupid low 18 year old rumble I want. I've got that still in my Vette if I want it, I suppose.

No it's all about the design of the speakers. Like I said the ones I was recommending had a high sensitivity (good for low power like a deck) but could also take more power if you want to upgrade. As far as wiring goes, you only need to upgrade the wiring if you start getting into bigger power (over 50 watts). The reason those little brick size amps are so popular is because the add the pop to the speakers but wires don't need to be updated (they are usually about 45 watts).

Fair enough. I was putting 125 RMS to mine, so I bumped up everything while I was in there.

I've entertained putting one of those inline amps in my truck, but I think if I do anything I'm going to swap out my sub first.

That's gonna be your max power, you are probably going to be closer to 15w continuous power which is still going to drive those speakers just fine. Having the eq is always a good thing to help even out the sound

@mach1man001 @tacobell007 Following what you guys are saying about speakers and order of upgrades, I have door speakers, tweeters in the A-pillar and a speaker in the center of the console, up near the windshield that I believe puts out a lot of sound. I can select the occupancy mode (maximize driver or all) and in driver mode, the center speaker seems to do a lot of work. Would it make sense to replace that one first with something good, then start working back from there (center speaker first, then front doors and a-pillar tweeters, then rear doors)?

Morning everyone.......Going out with @LivinLoud this morning for a little pew pew and then maybe some wheeling. I can't wait for the toys for tots run this weekend. Having today off is weird for me. I left my practice after nine years this past Friday. They were moving more in a corporate direction and they are looking more at profit over treatment. I understand that every business has to make money but not at the expense of the patient. I start my new job tomorrow at a smaller practice, more focused on treatment and creating a plan for patients to focus on their future. Smaller office, same pay, knowing nobody, but at have to stick to my convictions. Each of us live by our scorecard. We first experience our scorecard when we get our first job. Our scorecard comes when we get our first paycheck. We say to ourselves, this is how much I'm worth, this is what I can do with it. So if I go to school, get a better education, get a promotion or a better job, therefore I will make more and my scorecard will be bigger. But most of us forget about the percentage of happiness is on our scorecard. It is true that 91% of Americans hate their jobs, but it is what you do to focus on your happiness when you get home, find a way to monetize it, and focus on doing what is best for you and the people around you. Focus on your happiness in your scorecard and don't forget about self care.
