If it's any consolation, the cost per round to the Army in FY17 was $1.1359/7.62 round (avg) and $2.2483/.50bmg round (avg). And considering the terminal effects of the .50 and the increased rate of fire in the M134, it's actually cost saving after a while to shoot .50.

My math (assuming a 2x7.62 to 1x.50bmg damage coefficient, which is generous) says that your breakeven between the two systems in a meager 675 minutes on the -19:D

Yeah, but a Dillon M134 is $215K so you're not losing much incrementally moving up

I think we're paying $0.54 per round for the mini and $2.73 for the .50 - all training ammo.

Our last quote on the M134 was far less, but I'm not able to publish that info...

Lol, finally a chance to flex that "overland" setup you got going! Until the leafs fail and the frame snaps in half.

CLEARLY, a ZSU-23-2 is the ideal setup for a midsize:

Fair. Granted my dollar figures are averages across all the types, so blanks, to ball, to APIT+SLAP-T

My local indoor range is also a large gun store. I don't go often, maybe 6 times a year. I had never been turned away, but I don't have anything exotic. I have a Super Redhawk 454 Casull I shoot there from time to time and they never say a word. I have bought about 6-7 guns from them in the last 10 years including a Sig Sauer 516 (AR 223/556) SBR with a 10 inch barrel and "arm brace" The last time I took it there they would not let me shoot it, but were fine with the 9mm SIG MPX which is even shorter and has the same exact arm brace. They could give me no explanation. I shoot other, regular length, ARs there without issue. Weird.

Just is what it is. I've moved past it at this point. Just wanted to bitch a little because it made me feel bad. Haha

This thread turned into a dumpster fire that's much more interesting than what I started it for. ;o) Best dumpster fire of the year though.

Some of the old timers at my private range told me silencers weren't allowed. Funny thing, though, when they are sitting around shooting the shit and I'm shooting my suppressed guns next to them, they don't seem to mind silencers at all.

Edit: club officers have and use silencers so I'm all good, they told me to ignore the whiners. And my form1 cans absolutely blow the minds of those old guys.

Well if cost is an issue.

A little late, but was it Bullseye or Country Folks?

EDIT: Never mind, I read the answer a few posts later.

Try the other one - it's only 10 minutes away.

When I lived in Washington the local rifle range would only permit loading one round at a time. Yes. You read that right. A 30 round mag was limited to 1 round.

I agree. It's the owners call and if he's willing to sacrifice business because of it, then that's on him. If the OP really wants to take the high road, he should move on and let it go!

Interesting, I'm picturing an image of a child laying on his back in the aisles of Walmart flaying his arms and legs while screaming at the top of his lungs now.....

I know the place. Won't set foot there, but I think that rule applies to non members. Regardless was a member of MRC, but just a tad too far from the house, so I joined SVRC some years back. Good range, no mag limits, etc
