We tried it just based on the story. Turns out to be pretty good!

Well everyone.... long time no talk. Been busy.... made a few changes this weekend. Updated my grille to a TRD pro grille. And added a LEER 100xr. Love the way it turned out! Few more changes coming soon!

If anyone needs a grille, I have one for sale in the Memphis, TN area.

I'm the opposite, the older I get the more I hate the heat. When it is cold I can always add more clothing. When it is too hot there is only so much you can take off.

Okay y’all, I’m asking in this thread to avoid all the BS. Here’s the deal:

I have the opportunity to buy either an 88 4Runner or 89 pickup. They are the same price and both in generally the same condition with no rust. The 4Runner has a 4 inch lift. They are both stock other than that. Both manual 4x4s. I don’t plan on modding them, but who knows. I make no promises cause this forum is dangerous.

    How does one decide?

EDIT: this would be for cruising around town and some occasional trails.

What will you be using the vehicle for? A toy/trail vehicle, a work horse, just back and forth to work?
Is the 4runner the one with the removable top? If so, that would definitely be my choice.

what is the second vehicle for? i would go with the 4runner just because i already have a truck. it’s just going to depend on why you need or want this vehicle. let us know what you decide.

yeah, it does have that removable top. But it rains here. A lot. Bad storms and hurricanes so I’m not so keen on anything even remotely convertible.

yeah, I forgot to mention. This is just for commuting and some light trails. Maybe up in the mountains some. In July. At even the first sign of snow and salt it’s not coming outside to play. My 3rd gen is 2wd. :(

4Runner hands down between these two. Oh wait. 4” lift? Can that be brought back to factory... any permanent cuts?
