I watched a 12 minute video on youtube over the weekend that showed the correct way to take everything apart. If it goes like everything else I do, it'll take a lot longer than it's supposed to but I like to take my time and get it right. I'm not going to make a video though.

From what I’ve heard, once you plug in the adapter, it’s plug n play after that. So if you’ve watched YouTube videos on how to remove the grill/fender/bumper you should be fine.

I forgot to ask. I figure they'll show up when they show up. I'm not going to message him again and bug him. He'll do a better job that way. It can't take nearly as long as it takes for repair work on my guitars. Anything shorter than that and I'm good.

Not a big deal as I'm still waiting on my headlamps as they are both out of stock until 26nov.

anyone in canada source the non-pro LED version? none of the dealers in this thread ship to canada.
also it looks like the non-pro 2020 models in canada still have the halogen projectors?

The LED Headlight package is not standard for 2020. It does come standard on some configurations like the TRD Pro or Limited, but it's optional on many others.

The Limited has the LED headlight with the chrome strip and no lettering inside. The TRD Pro is blacked out and has those silly light up lettering inside the housing.
There is no way to factory order LED headlights in Canada so you are stuck with the older style headlight. The are (or will be) available at the dealer, but I'd imagine that they will be expensive and you will need and adapter loom to convert the several plugs into one plug that the LED housing accepts. This is another $90 US +shipping/brokerage/fees etc. So you are looking at a minimum of CAD $2000-2500 for the conversion. All this is for a $495 US factory option.
This is why I am going the Morimoto XB LED headlights. Cheapest I have found is $1150 US. Add shipping ect.. and you'll be looking at CAD $1500. They look better IMO, don't need an adapter and seem to perform better too. The only bottleneck for me is lack of funds and I don't see myself replacing headlights in the winter.

Don’t forget you have to do the wire tap if you plan on running the switchbacks and want the white led strip as your DRL with the Morimoto XB.

I wanted to go with this option too but after reading into the issues people were having with them, and the wire tap issues, and the high beam performance being equal to the stock halogen (at best) ... hard to get 1500 from my grubby hands for that..

I think the only sites you will find these are on a dealer’s wholesale websites. They all have roughly the same prices $660ish for each. Possibly is a couple of months you may find a third party selling them but you’re already getting roughly 35% off from wholesale.

I've used both Olathe and BAM Wholesale and both are great to deal with. But with these lights, and the poor way they are being shipped from Toyota. I'd actually go through a local dealer if you have that option. The cost should be the same or even cheaper without the shipping costs and you can check the lights to make sure tabs aren't broken, etc. I did order my OEM LED fogs via the dealer and picked them up in person....should have done that with these lights! But if using a site is your best option.....I'd probably use BAM first.

I agree with this. When I was at Culver City Toyota last Friday, I mentioned something about broken tabs in shipping. The manager in charge laughed in recognition of the issue as he'd had to send back so many headlights (not just Tacoma as I was the first for these) due to broken tabs. These are not inexpensive items and you would think that someone would have paid more attention to effective and protective packaging for shipping than they do. It was remarkably easy to talk them down to the cost plus ten pricing. Better to make $120 for an easy as pie transaction than to make nothing at all. And I ALWAYS compliment them on the great job they do there and they always come through with great service. As convenient it is to do business remotely online, it never hurts to maintain a good local relationship as well.

I ordered from McGeorge Toyota in Virginia and mine arrived in Texas 7 days later without any issues. They double box theirs and add bubble wrap between boxes.

Hey guys, currently shopping for a 2020 TDA OR and debating on getting the LED option for $485. I haven't found any TRD Off Roads at the dealers with just the LED package as most trucks in my area (twin cities) that have the LED's also have the tech package or the OR premium package which I'm not interested in. So my question is, should I be patient and try to find one that has just the LED package or just get a TRD OR without any options and upgrade down the road? Are they really that much better?
