winch on tacoma prerunner

hey guys just wanted some opinions. do you guys think a 2wd tacoma should get a winch in the front of the bumper or is there no point?

 

are you going off roading?

 

its not for me its for a buddy. and yea hes going offroading

 

if hes in the Mojave then there's no point, nothing to winch off of as it is. Most guys out here in Southern Nevada dont have them who wheel locally because of that. If theres some big trees where he lives then Id say go for it

 

You'll definitely get stuck more in a Prerunner... I'd say it's a good investment.

Do you realize that the more you winch the deeper it gets pulled into the ground.

 

yep....still not gonna trust it.....thats just me tho. I aint gotta worrie about it though because im surrounded but trees for miles and miles

 

If you don't have any other options I'd be willing to bet you'd trust it...

 

Another point. OP typically you shouldn't wheel with by yourself anyways so in theory you should always have another truck as an anchor point. The only flaw is that truck may not be in reach of the hook so get some extension straps.
