Yeah I figured you meant native deer. Im guessing you go for wilder deer right? I typically hunt in ranches and the white tails are pretty tame.

Yes. Where we hunt a deer has as good of a chance as getting hit by a vehicle doing 55 mph as it does getting shot, lol.

The problem here is they are building so many houses the deer have nowhere to go. I see 1-4 dead ones a week on my commute to work, it's 8 miles from home.

you can bait in tx put out bait closer to the stand. you should easily get them to come under 40yds. The rest is persistence, patience, skill/ practice.

Longest archery kill was 43 yards. Second longest was 27. The rest have been less than 20 yards. I practice to 50 yards, makes the 20 yarders a chip shot.

Yes, archery by its nature is a close range sport.

Where are you hunting at? Texas? Shooting a bow consistently past 60 yards accurately is an art form that requires a ton of practice. I'm on the side that a crossbow is just a shitty rifle, but opinions vary

    Woohoo!

What’s the wait time? Around here it’s about a year if you put down a healthy deposit. Not much deposit, wait times vary accordingly :D

This guy has pretty much stopped taking any in. He said he is only going to do one this year because he's basically sold his business. Should be ready in March:cool:

Me too! I've never taken one to him so I'm a tad bit worried. I saw a couple that were in his shop and they looked pretty good. We'll see.

Like if Taurus made a rifle, it would be comparible to shooting a $200 crossbow @ 100 yards. I can see that

    Stock as shit!
You want to defy all odds, shoot a big, mature whitetail doe at 10 yards. Hardest thing there is to shoot IMO.
This is so true. They start all that damn head bobbing and foot stomping shit if they see you even make one small flinch much less try to draw the bow. They'll pick you off faster than anything in the woods. I always wait until they're looking away or behind a tree before I make any movement.
