I just had this TSB performed today. Honestly it completely changed how my truck drives. Literally a night and day difference! Used to struggle with smooth shifts since mile 1. Now with 15.5k. I can fly through gears like butter and not feel like I’m riding a bucking bronco literally right out of the dealer lot from picking it up. I fell in love with the truck again

That probably means that your master cylinder needed replacing. The master slowly starts failing so you can't notice it getting worse, day to day. I'm on my second replacement master cylinder. I'm glad you got it taken care of.

Pedal was getting squeaky and shifts were getting chalky. I finally took it in and they replaced the pedal / mechanism and the clutch master cylinder under the TSB. Drives great now, smooth clutch throw and quiet shifts.

    hi all,

i'm not planning to hijack this thread going forward, but just a little hook for a future thread possibly...

this is the 80's Land Cruiser all metal MC with the metal clevis, brand new, straight from UAE, as brought to our attention by @Jeff Lange earlier in this thread. this is the only part sourced outside N.A. for the FJ Heavy Metal Pedal build. now the rest of the list will be tackled and we'll see where it leads. this is the only part collected so far, as i just wanted to be sure i could get this before proceeding.

Try run those feet heaters for a bit and see what happens too. It didn't show up for me until 22K miles ish.

Ill keep an eye on this too as I only have 4500 miles. The squeak was happening only during when its about 40 degrees or below. Applied disk brake grease right at the boot, no more squeak for me.

Just make sure you don't keep on putting bandaids on it until the warranty runs out and then wish you had just gotten the replacement. If you're in socal that 40 degree point is probably late at night or first thing in the morning and may change as the truck heats up.

Yup definitely, just wanted to to see if its just the cold and I have the grease lying around in the garage. If the squeak happens again then surely its time for the dealer to check it.

Just hope you dont get that dickhead that says because you tried to self rectify it that is voids something. For me I noticed it was the worse on days with big temp swings like 40 in the morning and 80 in the afternoon for example. What part of socal are you in?

I live in Edwards area and we do get big temp swings as well. I applied a very small amount of grease, probably about a pea sized, very unnoticeable. Its only during cold weather and first few minutes of driving is when I hear the squeak, after I had driven the truck for a while I wouldn't hear the squeak anymore. This is why I think it might just be the cold boot making the squeaking sound when clutch is being depressed.

Yeah you're up there a bit. Used to live in LA/OC few few years back. Since you have a 2019 unless you drive an absurd amount of miles you should be good for a bit to see how it plays out.

Looks good. Just a quick note though, this master cylinder is from the 2008-2018 Land Cruiser 200.

    SOON...
Just got this done today. The creak is gone, but more importantly, now my truck drives like BUTTER. So much better, smoother, and easier to modulate the clutch. So glad I got this fix.
