So I’ve had my rigid DOT approved fog lights for a little over two years and the powder coating is a joke. I reached out to them with zero response. I won’t be buying any of their products again. I paid a premium for what I thought was a premium product. I’m sick of companies pumping out garbage products and not standing behind them. So think twice before you buy these. Here are some photos. Pretty disappointed.

Likewise-ish. The rigids I have are 2 1/2 years old and I'm the second owner, still look new

Also, strip that coating and prime/paint yourself. Problem solved

Given how peppered the rest of the bumper cover is I fail to see the issue

Powder coating is not the be all end all of coatings.

I'd say the reason Baja stuff might last longer is because the vast majority of mall crawlers I see use them.

Hence, "vast majority". I will always be a rigid guy. Until I see a video of Baja cutting one of their light bars in half with a blow torch and the other half still working like Rigid, I don't think I will change my mind

By peppered you mean bugs? I’m sorry if you “Bro” types deck out your trucks and then drive them around the city or light trail use. I would expect zero issues if that were the case. My trucks a truck it gets used as a truck. My skid plate by Rad Industries sees far more abuse and has yet to have a powder coat issue.

Powder coating is especially vulnerable to dings.

Rigid's warranty is against leaking. Touch up the paint and go on with your life.

I've actually heard a story of a guy buying used Rigids that ended up having condensation in them, so he talked to Rigid and they told him to send them in because their shit doesn't leak.

How old is the skid plate? Have you ever touched it up with paint?

Nope it’s been awesome! He makes real quality stuff it’s heavy gauge aluminum as well so light weight. It’s about 3 years old.

Almost every weekend that I go wheel, I have to touch up my skid plates/sliders. So if you are telling me you have not once hit/scrapped your skids, you either take god tier lines or fit into that "bro street/trail group"

Lol yeah no I don’t do the same type of off roading as you. Some light trails, but mostly on frozen lakes in winter fishing, luckily ice chunks don’t leave scratches just dents. Lots of miles on the road though like 107k on the truck. Guess I just expected more from rigid and at least a response when I email customer service.

If your skid plate sees "abuse" then the paint would be chipped and scratched.
