    I remember every Summer clearing out the remnants of the old, sour silage from the silo.
    The hired man Zook (yeah, a young Amish guy, seriously) inside shoveling.
    My Dad outside with a pump action .22 rifle. Loaded to the gills with 20+ .22 shorts.
    Out the rats would come...

    I was too young to be trusted to do any shooting. :(
