    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I wouldn't spend it for a new front drive shaft. I'd get it from where ever you can, and replace the U-joints, and call it good.

Not much to the front driveline, it's pretty protected from impact, and the only "miles" that really gets put on them is when the truck is in 4wd.

Even a truck that has 100,000 miles on it only has 15,000-20,000 miles on the front driveline (if that much).

that gives me some relief about the driveshaft, i thought it is getting iffy with the weird ass vibes this past summer, something knocking underneath there
it has gone away now that the A/C is not in operation
so its still a mystery to me

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I installed my front (spindles, diff, hubs, CVs) in about 4 hours one weekend.

The next weekend we pulled the old trans, t-case, etc, installed the 4x trans t-case, drivelines, and did the shifter... started Friday after work, was drivable Sunday evening.

Keep in mind I had practically zero mechanical knowledge before I did my swap. The most involved thing I did was change my brake pads. I took my time, and made sure I did it right.

Guy kept brushing me off and when I eventually asked about it, he took great offense to my frustration. He posted a new thread wanting to swap for 4.56
    instead.

    very substandard!

in active conversations online perhaps somebody will ring a bell and pipe in that they recall coming across something or other and point in the proper direction
I believe i have done it for a TW member on multiple occasions now
    thank me for helping!

i can understand that MOST 1st gens on TW seem to be in CA or other nice and warm places

and really honestly don't know jack about shit that goes on east of you in the winters, so I don't blame you for lack of experience at all!
