Installed the pro grill this evening. Slowly blacking out. Badges and tailgate letters are next. Then on to the interior

Sorry I don’t. It was on the truck when I bought it used. I’ve looked it over and don’t see any markings indicating a make or model.

So, I haven't been on the forum in a long while, and unfortunately I probably won't be after this....

So this happened a couple weeks ago:

    20191026_112942.jpg

    20191026_114600.jpg

    20191026_114605.jpg

    20191026_122745.jpg

My brother-in-law and I were headed to the country to do some work on our property. Headed down a FM road, middle of the day, road straight as a arrow, speed limit 75 mph, and all of the sudden a farmer in a F250 pulls out crossing the road. I had about 1 1/2 seconds to react. I immediately slammed on the breaks, and laid on the horn, and started peeling off to my right to avoid hitting him. If he would have stopped I probably would have missed him, and ended up in a field with barbed wire wrapped around the front of my truck. However, he kept coming across the road, like I wasn't even there. Fortunately my brother-in-law and myself were both wearing our seat belts. All the airbags deployed and by some miracle, we both walked away with barley a scratch (couple airbag burns from the side curtain airbag). The other driver was not as lucky, he was 88 years old, not wearing a seat belt and had no airbags... he was life flighted. Just wanted to share my story, because this Tacoma took a t-bone collision, probably going 70 mph, into a F250, and myself and my passenger are here to tell the tale, with only bruises to show for it. It really is amazing how they can build these trucks now days. Alas, I am going back to a full size truck. But just wanted to show you what these tacos can take. Remember to buckle up!!!

I just can’t like this. Sorry you had to go thru this, but it’s good to know how well the Tacoma did as far as protecting you and your BIL. So glad you guys are gong to be alright. Too bad for the farmer. He probably never even thought about the seat belt. Seat belts are great when they are used correctly. Good luck.

installed the TRD Baja front coilovers today. was really fun and a good learning experience. kinda surprised when i took the two lower bolts out and when the lower control arm swung swung away, the whole rotor and brake assembly floated around.

was a pain holding it up and out while taking out the old strut and putting the new one in. none of the videos i watched had that happen and i wonder if it's because they were all 4x4 and i'm 2wd.

check out that stance...looks so much better...

Just glad you guys are ok...YES! Seat belts are very important. Stories like these reminds me of my high school sweetheart that died coz she went thru the windshield of her car 30years ago.

I was pretty worried about it to be honest. Cutting the facia was the most worrisome part and how I was going to lift the whole winch/bumper unit onto the studs by myself. I used my dremel and a small cutoff wheel that cut like butter! After being extra careful cutting I still have the gaps other folks have mentioned but for my skill level (low) I’m pretty satisfied with the end result and probably saved my self $400+ in shop labor?

I was also worried about lifting the awkward combined weight by myself without help (120lbs?). I even got a floor jack thinking that would be helpful and maybe use a wood jig setup I saw on YouTube to help keep it level while lifting it so I could line up the studs easier.

But I just lifted it by the bull bar and placed it on the top inside studs, enough to get a couple of bolts started. The toughest part of the whole thing was mounting the winch to the bumper!! Just getting the front winch bolts and nuts started! unreal how tough that was!

If your hands are small theres plenty of room, if not, its a real pain in the neck. I eventually got them started by lowering the winch onto the bolts from above and shifting the bolt around from below to get them started.

Only thing I wish I had done was leave more facia on the ends where they attach to the front bumper. I cut it along the line that runs down the inside, where the front bumper facia meets the clip and screw. If I would have left an extra 1/4” that would have prevented the small gaps I ended up with or I would have been able to clean that up after the fact.

This was the most ambitious mod I’ve attempted by myself just using TW installation posts and YouTube videos. Maybe running the electrical wiring and messing around in the fuse box installing the Pop & Lock was next.

it came out okay, if you don’t put a
    magnifying glass on it! ;)

Now that you mention it.... you may be right. Ive only noticed it a few times.

When walking to the dentist i parked and tapped the lock button and it locked but i usually tap it once more when farther away and i got no reaction
