Hey thanks, it took me a while to figure out what all I wanted to do. But am super happy with the outcome. Still a few more little mods planned for the near future.

 

I pretty much have the exact same truck. Been thinking about doing the lift. How much has your mpg dropped since the lift?

 

Well that's the shitty part as one would assume. I went for the smiles per gallon not miles per gallon way of thinking. I honestly haven't really figured that part out but as one would expect its definately worse.

I didn't regear and not sure I'm going to unless my transmission tells me otherwise. As sad as it is I built mine for a cool looking cruiser with no intent to offroad. Been there, done that and no time for it to be honest.

 

yea that’s my only fear.... I currently get 21mpg with a v6. Ive read horror stories of people dropping down to 13mpg and I don’t think I could do that being my Tacoma is my daily driver

 

Yeah man totally understandable, it was a tough decision whether just to go with a 2 1/2" lift or go bigger. In the end I wanted something a little different than every other Taco I see driving around in my area.

Once I got the lift on with the tires then added the flares I have no regrets what so ever. I've been getting a ton of compliments and really enjoy driving it. The power is still good when you need it.

Just picked it up last night, bone stock. One owner, came with a stack of receipts. The previous owner did every minor, intermediate, and major service, every recommended flush and fluid exchange, and even tires at the stealership. Not spotless, but about as close as it gets for a 12 year old truck. First order of business is to get the front windows tinted (I live in AZ), then a bluetooth capable radio with rear USB inputs to plug in my hard drive full of tunes, a good set of floor liners, then 3" and 285's. Developing quite an extensive list beyond that, should be fun.
