Hello to all. I'm Mike. New to this forum. Fairly new to Tacomas. This is my 2017 SR5 long boy!

My father bought this truck used in 2017 in Rockville, so I'm the 3rd owner. He got it to replace his 2012 SR5.

Age has taken his sight, and he was deemed legally blind this past summer. Paperwork finally found its way to his insurance company, so he signed the truck over to me rather than selling it.

So here we are. For now, tint and some vent shades are all I have planned for the truck, but that may change. I don't do much of anything in the way of off-roading so I can't justify a lift. Wheels and tires will come eventually when the OE tires wear out. I'm no stranger to e-tuning, so the OV stuff looks really good, so I will at some point be getting a tune on the truck (if only for the improved drive-ability).

I've definitely seen some sweet Tacomas in Loudoun and Fairfax county. If you see me, plate is the same as my screen name... don't be shy.

I've already got a couple that I'd like to do, given I find the answers I need. Outside of the tint and vent shades, my next thought is to get the OE wheels to sit flush with the fenders. From the reading I've done, it looks like a 1.25" spacer is what I need... just want to know if there's a preferred/trusted brand of wheel spacer in the community?

Bora and Spidertrax are the best brands to go with for wheel spacers.

I'd also look into upgrading your lighting. Low cost upgrades and several informative threads about it here.

Few seat mods that will make long distance driving more comfortable. Organization mods for your truck are a must too.

Seat mods are intriguing because I'm 6'3".

Only truck organization I've looked into is getting a ProClip dash mount for my phone. I watched that LastLineofDefense guy's youtube video of how he organizes his Tacoma. Gotta say I was a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff he'd done. A center console organizer would be tits though.
