U-joints appear to be good. Haven't been able to get any visual play out of them. Carrier bearing could be a possibility, but I replaced it with a Spicer not long ago. There's up and down play in it, but I'm not sure how much is acceptable. However, I installed it with the shaft still on the truck so there could be a possibility that the bearing was not seated correctly or I caused premature fail if it was not correctly aligned, which it appeared to be at the time. My shaft was also out of phase after doing my 4wd conversion, which I did not realize until about a week ago. Still have a vibration that persist after making sure everything is in phase and installing axle shims.

If it was out of phase, then the imbalance could have destroyed the bearings. Just my .02

I’ve thought about that as well. With the old tires, I couldn’t tell anything was going on. With the new ones, now it’s all coming to light

For you records. Yeah they don’t even last a day when they are posted. People got money on the west coast. 18k is a fart in the wind.

You guys are awesome, thanks for your input! I definitely do realize it will be opinionated being that everyone will have different priorities, but the feedback is helpful none the less.

Good info on the leafs, I believe Im going to get the Dakar HD packs, and try them out with my current setup. If they are too much, i can remove the overload leaf and have the MD pack.

Thats my thought! Buy once cry once!!

I hear you. When the RTT does roll around, a low pro bed rack is exactly what I am shooting for. In regards to the suspension, not only will it be an awesome ride, I feel like it will help with reducing the amount of shock and vibrations the chassis will feel, resulting in less stuff potentially cracking or getting loose down the road...

Audio is pretty important to me, but my current setup is somewhat sufficient. The most expensive part is the head unit just because i want it to have a capacitive touch screen, wireless apple carplay/android auto and the datalink maestro unit so i can monitor my truck a little bit better. all that alone is close to 1k. I may start out with just doing a solid speaker upgrade for the time being, that will be substantially cheaper than doing everything audio wise at once.

Thats my thought as well with the audio. As mentioned above the headunit is the most expensive part, but i could do a solid speaker upgrade that i would be content with im sure for a couple hundred im sure.

I see this trend follows your current build!!

    wow what an offer deal

That was my thought as well but the 10% of off-road i do is not a measley walk in the park, and the on-road manners compared to my current OME setup should improve drastically with Kings or ADS. I do agree that it is probably overkill but id rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it ya know ;) Protection was my priority when i bought my truck so luckily im covered there, although i am considering a gas tank skid and lca skids.

What's your (or anyone's) advice for new grass seed. Yard had a ton of vines, trees, holes, and i leveled it out pretty nice.

Sprinkled some grass seed from HD on it the day before it decided to monsoon for days straight, and then freeze. I'm guessing between stuff getting washed away and the freeze, the seeds are not going to do anything. Should it just be left until spring or is there hope of doing something or putting more down seed now?

You're going to want to look for something with some winter rye and unhulled bermuda IMO. The rye will go ahead and take and grow green during the winter, then in the spring that bermuda will start sprouting. Keep the Rye trimmed so that it doesn't choke out the bermuda when it's ready to sprout.

Not sure how big your area is, but bermuda seed is a bit expensive. ~$200/50lb bag on average, although unhulled may come in cheaper.

The one and done would be sod, but it's currently running around $.60/SF here in Columbus and probably more expensive the further north you go. I bet @Built2Ride could chime in there.

West nailed it. The temps have dropped low, to the point where the only seed that will work would be seasonal rye.
I would rye it now, and sod in early spring

That, to me, depends on if you want to mow or need the grass now. If you need the grass now and don't mind mowing, go for the Rye. Otherwise, I would wait for the spring and put down sod. I've always liked St. Augustine. I believe Raleigh St. Augustine is a good one that is cold weather hardy and doesn't require a TON of watering. I know that stuff did well in TX, but don't know how that translates here. St. Augustine will also spread well. I know people who put it down in basically a checkered pattern to save on cost. It looked terrible at first, but filled in pretty nicely. Bermuda seems to be the go-to for most people. Fescue might do alright here in the colder months, but I would think that it would get killed in the heat during the summer unless your yard is heavily shaded.

    Gotcha.

It's a backyard, mostly sunny, and at this point there's plenty of leaves on it so at least it's not just dirt or mud. So no real rush on getting anything back there now, just was curious since the first attempt didn't work. But might look into rye if something is needed. Plenty of other projects, at least it's mostly smooth now.

Rye will come up like no ones business. Seed is very picky about ground temps.
But Rye will go nuts. Got to stay on top of it, or it will choke your mower out.

I don't have the funds. I want them. I feel like I need them. But I don't feel like I can afford them right now.
