    I was planing on buying one but, wife got me last night on what I had spent on truck since Summer (lift, uca, new tires and several other accessories). That plus the unexpected vet bill and Christmas I want have one till 2020. :rofl:

    Im a 3rd gen, but with no weight in the back on the heavy duty (not the super heavy duty) i had almost 4" of lift. Now with the weight i have back there ive settled down to around 3ish. 2nd gen im not sure. But i can imagine you would net the same as i did with them.

    Seems like you are in the same boat I was/am in. Dakars have seemed like a solid option until recently with all the issues popping up with them. And the fact that they were not designed for a Tacoma in the first place.

    Folks discovered through the hammer hangers, and archive garage had previously suspected, that the Dakar’s are essentially Hilux springs that are being sold for Tacomas. The 2nd leaf is longer than it should be and rubs against the stock shackle and has other issues with the hammer hangers.
