Oh and I sprayed the drivers side nut with liquid wrench yesterday, and there's been no rain here for past 2 days so I'm sure that fucker has had plenty of time to work it's way in.

I thought it was funny when you changed your oil/tranny/radiator/coolant resi, why aren't you using sockets on the nuts man. Don't use pliers you will just round them off like you did. 3/8 driver with a breaker bar and bam.

If I just secure the nuts it just spins the entire fucking assembly.

So when I use the 14mm wrench on the nut along with the 5mm for the top...nothing happens. I used so much force I rocked the truck horizontally on the suspension.

But the fucking nut didn't budge. If I had the allen key version I would have snapped it off like a goddamn twig.

For the front DO NOT take that nut off first. Take off the other three around the one, so that the whole assembly will come out in ont piece.

Only for the rear you take the nut off because its just the shock.

Oh I know, I just stole that picture off of Chris's rear shock removal thread, cause there is no picture of the rear shock with the 5mm set up like I have.

    Let me rephrase that.

There is no picture of the rear shock without the allen key system of cluster-fuckery.

    I'm pretty sure that's a good way to destroy a perfectly good wrench...but it's worth a shot.

Good call on the strap wrench on the shock body...never would have thought of that.

Don't promise it will work though. That thing is super smooth and slippery. I dented the teeth of the vice grips I used to secure that puppy and it still just slid.

OK, I'm calling BS. I want pictures of the needle noses causing the actual destruction. Trying vice grips on a nut is never on the list of "I've tried everything." It's like using a hammer to change the TV channel. WTF?

You have a better idea? I'm all ears. Or you're welcome to dog sled your ass up to the great frozen north and show me how it's done. That may sound flippant but I'm actually serious. I know which way the thread goes and I've tried peaceful means to ease its transition to the great shock speed bump in the sky.

But this fucker just declared war and I never realized I was dealing with the cockroach of the mechanized world. Short of a proverbial meteor hitting this bastard...it isn't coming off.

Oh it mocks me. It's already taken it's pound of flesh from me...well probably closer to ½ an ounce off the knuckles, but better than a gram off the balls.
