    hello, welcome to the group:wave:

I second rockauto. Very good selection of parts and good prices as well but if you want genuine toyota parts, toyotapartsdeal or toyotapartsdirect (if you are in canada)
    junkyard parts : car-part.com

I've used Toyotapartsdeal before, the prices are good and the website is legit. But be aware, if you get sent the wrong product or have some kind of issue then they are very difficult to deal with. It's basically a conglomerate website that searches dealerships all over the country for the best prices on the parts you're looking for, then ships them to you under the Toyotapartsdeal name. If you get the wrong part by mistake or whatever, it makes it harder to resolve the issue (or at least take longer).
I've heard of some pretty bad customer service experiences through them, same goes for toyotapartsdirect. The few times I've used them though, I got what I ordered and the pricing was good

@Sergg, I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

I'll first use this opportunity to remind you not to get your critical auto parts from Amazon or Ebay. Unless you know *exactly* what you're getting, I wouldn't trust a retailer who sells books and games you get you the right part. Not only are the parts sold thru Amazon cheap chinese crap, they are also quite often wrong on telling you which parts fit your vehicle. Because, you know, they sell books....

Rockauto has definitely treated me well for a variety of non-critical parts. There are some parts, namely lower balljoints, where you should opt for OEM or 555 brand. I have had Moog balljoints (from rockauto, however) and while my truck didn't explode, IMO just spend the extra $20 for 555's. OEM BJs will cost double that. Got my 555's from:

lowrangeoffroad.com; These guys have a variety of other components like steering racks, radiators and numerous off-road oriented upgrades.

    For OEM stuff:

https://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/ (a vendor on this site)
And any of the other OEM retailers already mentioned.

You will get your OEM or nothing crowd, I'm certainly not one of those, but there are a few types of things where IMO you should go OEM:

Any internal engine component (bearings, fuel injectors, water pumps, timing belts - that sort of stuff). For the most part, those things really aren't that pricey. Other things, like inner tie-rod ends are ridiculously expensive for OEM (like $300 ea.) whereas 555 brand are like $40 ea. 555 makes the OEM brand anyway, I think they' also make the Moog ones, lol...

For other retailers, check out the Vendors section of this site, there are a bunch of vendors that sell just about anything you could need:

    4xInnovations
    Downsouth Motorsports
    Headstrong Offroad

Are a few of my favorites.

If you ever have any other questions on specifics, just post up and we'll be happy to help guide you in the right direction. We're a pretty friendly, albeit highly sarcastic, group. Just let us know your budget, the type of driving you do, any prior mods, etc... That info can help steer you towards, or away form certain mods, or even brands. I.e. the type of lift that's "best" will vary based on budget and if you plan to drive it to work every day vs. beating it up off road.

    Cheers!

    And welcome to the addiction!

yeah after I learned that bit of info I usually try to look for what I need elsewhere, but if I can't find it cheaper or if I need it quickly I'll just go through Toyotapartsdeal and cross my fingers lol.

First let's welcome the new guy to the forum.

Second, how are they scam artists?

A ton of us have purchased parts from Rockauto (for varies vehicles we all own) and have all had great success.

Never ever ever EBay. Sodomize yourself instead of letting those guys give it to you. However, I have had luck with used parts on EBay, you gotta navigate through EBay motors, parts, then select your make, select used in the filter

Gotta be very careful with fake OEM parts on eBay and Amazon..but eBay seems to be more flooded with them. More so when it comes to sensors and other electronic parts

The fake Denso sensors coming from China are extremely realistic looking to their OEM counterparts, easy to be fooled until the sensor ends up failing quickly or not working at all

I use Amazon quite a bit, as long as it's an Amazon Prime certified item then you can rest easy with it...even if something turns out to be wrong, if it's a Prime item then Amazon will always take it back. It's the 3rd party vendors on Amazon (items not listed as Amazon Prime) that you have to be wary of.
With eBay you sorta have to be that wary of everything, unless the seller has a really good rep. Or if it's an dealership selling directly on eBay then that's usually good to go.

I don't buy from Amazon anymore on principle. They have gotten to big and to many useful idiots have volunteered to bug their own homes with their smart speakers. Being anti gun does not help them but i have never seen ebay delivery vans in my neighborhood. Amazon can take a hike they will not get anymore business from me i will gladly pay dealer price if i have too.

I don't spend any more than I can afford to lose with either eBay or Amazon. Then if it doesn't work out. Meh..
